Overview

The Mach is a power-oriented fin designed for surfers who like to commit to their turns and fully use the wave’s length. Its surface area and pronounced rake allow it to generate constant drive and maintain excellent stability at high speed. Where some fins prioritize freedom or pivot, the Mach fully embraces its role as a curve engine.

Thanks to its very wide base, it efficiently transfers the surfer’s energy into the wave. Each input translates into acceleration and direction. Its extended rake allows for long, drawn-out lines with a strong sense of projection. The board stays firmly on rail and delivers a very clean, controlled feel, especially on open faces where maintaining speed without losing grip is essential.

Template

Raked and powerful template. The rake is pronounced, favoring long arcs and projection. It maintains speed through the line and supports committed, drawn-out turns.

Base

The base is very wide, generating strong drive and control. It absorbs powerful turns and efficiently transfers energy through the wave.

Depth

The depth is significant, providing stability and grip, especially in fast sections or when pressure increases.

Surface area

The surface is generous and evenly distributed. It increases control and stability but also creates a bit more drag, reinforcing a more “anchored” feel.

Setup

The single setup is a configuration based on a single center fin. It prioritizes stability, line reading and smooth trajectories. The fin acts as the main anchor point, guiding the board with precision and continuity.

The feeling is stable and linear: the board holds its line, glides easily and favors long, drawn-out curves rather than quick directional changes. Surfing is built over time, with progressive engagement in each turn.

Nos dérives sont fabriquées à partir de plaques de fibre de verre pleine masse, ce qui garantit une excellente solidité et une grande fiabilité. L’usinage dans la masse permet d’obtenir des formes très précises, fidèles au design initial, pour un comportement sain et constant dans toutes les conditions. Cela permet aussi de développer facilement différents templates et d’ajuster les performances selon les besoins.

La même construction est utilisée sur toute la gamme, assurant une cohérence de flex et de sensations entre les modèles. Ce procédé, largement éprouvé, offre une très bonne résistance aux appuis puissants et une excellente durabilité.

Résistantes à la torsion, aux impacts, ainsi qu’à l’eau salée et aux UV, ces dérives conservent leurs performances dans le temps tout en restant simples à entretenir et réparer si besoin.

Who is it for?

The Mach is designed for surfers who like to push hard. It suits an intermediate to advanced level. It allows you to load into turns and maintain speed with confidence. It feels reassuring in solid conditions.

It is ideal for surfers who like to drive hard off the rail, apply strong pressure in turns, and draw clean, committed lines with a powerful and structured style of surfing.

What is it for?

The Mach is particularly suited to mid-lengths, performance eggs, and modern single fin boards that demand control and drive. It also works very well in a 2+1 setup to create a powerful, directional feel.

It pairs especially well with powerful mid-lengths and boards oriented toward carving. It excels in waves with open face and allows you to commit at high speed while holding a strong line. Ideal for powerful surfers. A fin built for charging.

What size?

For large retro logs and noseriders, sizes 9” to 11.5” are the most appropriate. The more you prioritize nose riding, hold, and stability, the larger you should go.

As always:

larger = more stability, more hold, more control
smaller = more glide, more freedom, more maneuverability

The right choice depends on the board, the surfer’s weight, wave speed, and surfing style.

Minimum size favors: glide, speed, maneuverability

Maximum size favors: stability, control, noseriding

Example for a 9'2 longboard

9” → more speed and maneuverability
9.5” → more stability
10” → more noseriding

Light surfer → slightly smaller size.

Heavy surfer → slightly larger size.

A simple rule is to choose a fin roughly one inch longer than the board length. This works especially well for classic longboards and noseriders. For more modern or shorter boards, you can slightly reduce size to improve maneuverability and speed.

How to choose between two close sizes?

Within the same fin range, the difference between two sizes (for example 10” and 10.5”) may seem small, but it noticeably affects board behavior.

Example: choosing between 10” and 10.5” on a 9’ longboard

With 10”:

the board feels more lively
turns are easier to initiate
slightly faster glide

With 10.5”:

the board is more stable
the tail stays more anchored in the water
easier noseriding

The 10” suits a more versatile longboard or a surfer who likes to turn. The 10.5” is better suited for a noseriding-focused log.

You can also adjust based on surfer weight, on a 9’6 longboard with the same fin:

a 65 kg surfer may prefer a 10” for more maneuverability
a 85 kg surfer may prefer a 10.5” for more control and hold

Weight directly affects pressure on the fin, and therefore the surface needed for stability.

Adjust based on waves

In slow, soft waves, a slightly larger fin helps slow the board down and stay in the pocket.

In fast or hollow waves, a slightly smaller fin makes transitions easier and increases freedom in turns.

Adjust based on surfing style

noseriding and classic trim → choose the larger size
more turns and freedom → choose the smaller size

When in doubt between two sizes, ask yourself: “Do I want more stability or more maneuverability?”
