Based on the west coast of Tahiti, Matt lives with one of the island’s most beautiful outer reefs right in front of his home. Having spent a lifetime on the water, he has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of multiple watersports disciplines, developing a deep connection to the ocean and a unique perspective shaped by decades of experience.

What inspired him to join GONG was the creative vision of Patrice, who has also been a close friend since their teenage years. Matt’s greatest strength is his experience and long-term involvement in the sport, having embraced foiling years before it became mainstream. As one of the early pioneers of the discipline, he has helped shape a movement that has since become one of the fastest-growing sectors in watersports. Most proud of remaining actively involved in the industry and inspiring younger generations to pursue a lifelong passion for the ocean, he is excited to watch the next chapter unfold through his daughter’s journey into foiling and to share that passion with her as she progresses on the water.
