"Alright, first wing session on the Veloce FF L paired with Patrice Guénolé's stab (Tail M, Veloce DW XL Lower 0°).

It's an absolute blast!

I'm mainly comparing it to the Veloce V3 L with either the Veloce one-piece XL stab or the Veloce L Tail M 0°. I headed out on a whim, no camera or GPS, and I definitely regretted not bringing the GPS.

First off, it's stiff 👍

As announced, there's more glide. It's not as huge a leap as when we went from the Curve H V2 to V3, but I definitely felt more comfortable linking messy little downwind bumps."

More forgiving at low speed

"The low-speed forgiveness is incredibly good. Between the extra glide and that, my slow-speed tack exits feel like they did on the Veloce XXL with the XL stab.

Overall forgiveness reminds me of the Fluid V3. That old thing about 'having to anticipate every direction change on the Veloce' is gone. The handling has become really intuitive, honestly very similar to the Fluid V3, even if it doesn't quite match the same rail-to-rail feel. Right now I'm working on drift. I haven't managed longer drifts than with the Fluid V3 XL or the Ypra Surf XL, but I can initiate them exactly when I want. If it lets go, I just let it run, and as soon as it hooks back up I can drive straight into the next turn.

I didn't have a GPS with me, so I can't be sure, but it feels like it points incredibly high upwind."

An impressive top speed

"The last thing that really stood out was the top speed. I was riding at the harbor entrance and inside the marina. At first I stayed in a really small area and didn't notice much. Then a friend on a kite came over to push the pace, so I sent it. Honestly, this thing flies. Where the V3 always felt like it hit its speed ceiling fairly early, with this FF L I think it's much closer to the Ypra Surf XL than to the Veloce V3 L."

A confidence-inspiring combo

"What impressed me the most was how much confidence this combo gives me. I used to say that about the Fluid V3, but now you get the Veloce glide on top of it 😍 🥰
