Max, Outbound Flow Manager

From Order Picker to Shipping Manager.

“Passionate about kitesurfing and surfing, I entered the company as an Order Picker in 2020. Being a STAPS graduate and former fitness trainer for high-level athletes, the world of logistics and order shipping was completely unknown to me. In a few weeks I was trained by my new colleagues. After a year and a half in the company, and internal training in logistics, management offered me the opportunity to move to executive status with the position of shipping manager. Today I manage around ten people in the company and I am responsible for shipping tens of thousands of orders all over the world each year.”

“Beyond this incredible professional experience and opportunity, sometimes complicated moments arise in personal life. Colleagues, managers, management and a certain Patrice... The big GONG family has been of unwavering human support. They have supported me, allowed me to rebuild myself and it is with a big smile that every morning I open the GONG Space Center. Live for it… For me it’s real and daily!“

Jeanne, Composite Workshop Technician

Working with your hands.

“After studying STAPS and a working for a few years as a lifeguard, I wanted get a job in the world of board sports. I sent a spontaneous application to GONG and was offered a position in customer support. I took this opportunity to join the GONG adventure. 2 years later, I wanted to move towards a position that allowed me to work with my hands. This is how I got to transition to the GONG Factory workshop.”

“Being part of the GONG adventure is extremely motivating because the team cohesion is very strong. Which makes getting into new boardsports all the more fun and easy. For instance I have been making my debut in wing foiling. Despite the cold of winter, I always have colleagues motivating me and giving me advice on the water. Thanks to this great team spirit, I am slowly starting to fly! To be continued..."

Practice each day to give better advice.

“I was originally a pure surfer. But thanks to GONG, I was immediately hooked on surf foil and wingfoil. Living the surf, foil and wing lifestyle every day, and the before- or afterwork sessions, allow you to progress at lightning speed.

We are surrounded by champions like Julien, Bastien, Malo, Clément, Max…it is a great incentive to progress. This direct relation with the team is a real chance. This is a very exciting and stimulating collective adventure.

Practicing each day allows me to gain a deep understanding of each customer’s needs, and thus provide them with the best advice and the best equipment. Nothing helps me better than to have had everything right under my feet.

I want every customer to leave the shop feeling happy and understood. If they leave with the board I’ve recommended and come back because they’re delighted with it, I’m the happiest.”

Marion, Technical Advisor

Retraining after a career in high-level sport.

“After many years in Tarifa, Spain, I wanted to come back to France and work in the field that has been my passion for many years: board sports. I’m a former high-level sportswoman in windsurfing and an instructor in kitesurfing, kite foiling and windsurfing. I scanned the ads on the web to find a job opportunity in this field. My friend who has known GONG for a long time spotted an opportunity for a permanent job to which I quickly applied. I was pleasantly surprised that a major company accepted a girl in this world, which is very rare these days.

We only have one life to multiply experiences, so I jumped on this opportunity. I am now part of the sales division, where I advise clients throughout Europe and beyond. The challenge is to offer equipment adapted to their level and their desires. This mission implies being competent in all areas and knowing the equipment inside out. That’s why we also spend a lot of time on the water. It allows you to improve, but also to test all the equipment we have in store.”

Benjamin, Web Project Manager

Daring to change your life.

“ Before coming to GONG, I worked in a renowned web agency based in Montpellier, in the city with 300 days of sunshine a year. We worked for major accounts, including some CAC 40 companies. Rewarding assignments and large budgets that allowed me to manage “large-scale” projects. However, something essential was missing in what I was doing on a daily basis: passion.

The decision was not easy because, moving 950km away to a region that we don’t know and where we don’t know anyone, generates its share of doubts… especially since I knew that I would be alone there for a few months, until my son finishes his school year and joins me with my partner. It was a life-changing decision.

I've been managing the web department at GONG for 3 years now, and I'm really glad I made this choice. The missions I'm given are extremely challenging, and I'm always on the water. The sessions at lunchtime or after work with my colleagues are incredible.. I'm all smiles on the water, so when I come back to the office, I'm in a good mood.

As far as the family is concerned, looking back over the years, we're all very happy to have moved here. I am also very happy because the living environment that I can now offer my son is great: living by the ocean is a luxury that a lot only dream of ! And when I have the blues “del Pais”, I go to Nantes which has a direct flight to Montpellier via low-cost companies.”
