The Team Series is the high-performance carbon construction of the V3 Atmo range. It is built to the same uncompromising standards of design, tooling, tolerances, quality control, and validation as every other V3 Atmo product, while replacing fiberglass with a significantly stiffer, more precise, and more responsive carbon laminate.
The objective is simple: transmit rider input more directly, minimize unwanted flex, maintain the stabilizer's profile under load, and deliver a sharper, more connected feel underfoot.

Team Series stabilizers feature a premium HM 12K prepreg carbon construction.

Prepreg Technology and Fiber Content Control

All fibers used in the V3 Atmo foils are manufactured using prepreg technology, meaning they are pre-impregnated with resin before layup. We do not use dry-fiber layups wetted inside the mold, as this process cannot achieve the level of precision we demand for a high-performance foil.
Prepreg technology allows precise control of the fiber-to-resin ratio, directly influencing weight, laminate density, stiffness, shear strength, torsional rigidity, final thickness, mechanical consistency, and curing quality.
In any composite structure, performance depends primarily on the fiber volume fraction, the proportion of structural fibers relative to the resin. The fibers carry the loads; the resin's role is simply to bond them together, transfer loads between fibers, and stabilize the structure without adding unnecessary weight.
Too much resin makes the stabilizer heavier and reduces its mechanical efficiency. Too little resin creates dry areas, weak bonding, and structural deficiencies. The goal is therefore not to add more resin for strength, but to use exactly the right amount of resin around precisely oriented fibers.
GONG takes this level of control even further by producing its own prepregs in-house. We select the dry fibers, impregnate them with a resin system tailored to the required mechanical properties, carefully control resin content, store the prepregs under refrigeration, then CNC-cut each ply before laying them up according to our proprietary laminate schedules.
This capability is exceptionally rare in the foil industry because it requires a genuine composite manufacturing infrastructure, controlled storage procedures, tightly managed production timing, and sufficient production volume to justify the investment. Rather than adapting our designs to a standard material, we engineer the material itself around each stabilizer, its intended use, expected loads, and the precise riding feel we want to achieve.

Computed Layup Schedules

The fibers used are not laid up randomly, by feel, or based on a few anecdotal experiences. Our layup schedules are engineered using proprietary software based on the actual mechanical loads each stabilizer experiences: bending, torsion, compression, loads around the connection, pumping forces, carving loads, landings, impacts, and repeated fatigue cycles.
Fiber orientations and distributions are precisely defined for each area: unidirectional (UD) fibers lock in the primary load paths, 0/90° plies stabilize the structure, ±45° or triaxial fabrics control torsion, while localized reinforcements—particularly carbon around the connection and other highly loaded areas, strengthen the most critical zones.
This layup engineering ensures material is placed only where it contributes to performance. Areas responsible for transmitting loads are stiffened, critical zones are reinforced, controlled compliance is preserved where it enhances comfort, and unnecessary weight is eliminated.
Each ply is CNC-cut to guarantee perfect geometry, fiber orientation, and placement. This level of precision minimizes manufacturing variability, unwanted thickness build-up, air pockets, dry spots, excess resin, and performance differences from one stabilizer to another.

Steel Molds and Absolute Repeatability

V3 Atmo Team Series stabilizers are produced in ultra-high-precision steel molds. This is an uncommon industrial choice in the foil industry, as steel molds are significantly more expensive than aluminum molds. The raw material costs more, machining takes considerably longer, and manufacturing requires a much higher level of expertise.
The advantage, however, is decisive: steel maintains its dimensional accuracy over time. While aluminum molds gradually wear, round off, deform, or lose tolerance through repeated production cycles, steel molds consistently produce identical parts from the very first to the very last unit.
For GONG, this repeatability is essential. Every stabilizer must feature the same profile, trailing edge, connection interface, and on-water performance regardless of when it was manufactured.
The molds are machined in-house on our 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring complete quality control while protecting the confidentiality of our shapes. This level of precision is essential to reproduce hydrodynamic profiles, thickness distributions, transitions, connection geometries, and trailing edges with extreme accuracy.
On a foil, even a few tenths of a millimeter can affect glide, stall characteristics, noise, ventilation, and stability. Tooling precision is therefore a performance factor, not simply an aesthetic detail.

Heated Presses and Controlled Cure Cycles

The parts are molded under very high pressure in heated presses. Temperature, pressure, cure time, and cooling cycles are carefully calibrated to maximize the composite's mechanical properties.
The objective is to produce a dense, homogeneous, fully cured structure that remains dimensionally stable and retains its performance characteristics over time.
Cooling is equally critical. A composite component should not simply leave the mold with the correct shape, it must maintain its dimensions, stiffness, and alignment after demolding. Controlled cooling cycles enhance dimensional stability while minimizing internal stresses that could otherwise distort the part or affect its performance.

Dedicated Finishing Facilities

After molding, every component undergoes an extremely precise finishing process in dedicated facilities specifically designed to transform a raw composite part into a flawless finished product.
Trailing edges and surface finishes are refined to perfection and carefully inspected to meet the V3 Atmo standard. This stage is critical: a clean, thin, perfectly uniform trailing edge reduces parasitic drag, noise, vibration, and efficiency losses.

V3 SuperLock Connection

The connection interfaces are inspected to equally demanding standards. The self-tightening V3 SuperLock system requires extremely tight manufacturing tolerances to perform correctly. The stabilizer must fit perfectly, lock securely under load, remain rigid while riding, and still be easy to disassemble after the session.
This mechanical precision has a direct impact on the rider's feel underfoot.

Digital Design and Team Validation

Every stabilizer is designed in 3D, numerically optimized, and validated under real riding conditions. Hydrodynamic and structural simulations make it possible to optimize profiles, load paths, flex characteristics, torsional behavior, and stress concentrations before the first prototype is even produced.
Prototypes are then extensively tested on the water by the GONG Team to validate their real-world performance, including takeoff, glide, stability, forgiveness, carving, pumping, and top speed.

Test Benches and Proactive Quality Control

GONG also uses proprietary mechanical test benches developed specifically for the loads encountered in foiling. These systems continuously monitor production quality by measuring stiffness, strength, connection durability, bending, torsion, and manufacturing consistency.
Foils are subjected to enormous and repeated loads. Quality cannot rely solely on visual inspection, a final quality check, or warranty feedback. Our approach is proactive.
