kicktail bad for low end?
kicktail bad for low end?
For wingfoil only (without the push of a wave from behind), Is a kicktail actually bad for early take-off?

Re: kicktail bad for low end?

Re: kicktail bad for low end?

I made a small multipart edge on 3D printer for HIPE 6.0 fixed with double sided adhesive tape (waterproof) and difference is very noticeable. Easier take off...

Cool, it is nice to share this experiment results!
I guess it can be done by cutting the blocks in some EVA foam if one does not have a 3D printer...

Here is the files and description:

In winds over 15knots every board will take of easy.
In conditions under the 13/14 knots, every help for better take off is welcome.
I had a 4 sessions with modified board on light wind (marginal condition). This edge help to "unstick" during the "take off". Hipe need to achieve some gliding speed, and than take off as soon as possible (or You need to wait for next gust).
