A quick update.. I went on holiday to Portugal and I borrowed 4 different boards from 2 top brands. I won't mention the brands but the sizes..

8'4" x 29 3/8" @ 110L
8'5" x 27 3/4" @ 112L
9'6" x 27 9/16" @ 112L
8'8 x 31" @ 125L

We were fortunate to have extremely good conditions always between 1m to 2m. I used all of the boards and although I enjoyed them nothing came close to the Zero 115L.

The Zero really is a special board!!!

XLT, LT, Curve Pro Foil
V2 Alu 95 mast

5'1 Matata Foil 55L (and 85L other brand)

Cash ready for a 2020 Zero SP...
Will regrettably order a custom if Gong continues to neglect light weight long board SUP surfers (unlike light weight short SUP surfers)

Yes I guess a lower volume Zero sp would make a perfect radical Longboard SUP for lightweights.
In all fairness to Gong I can’t think of any major brand having such a wide longSUP range. And longSUP offer for boards lower than 115L seems sparse at best...
Anyway isn’t the 115L Zero already very good for lightweights? The tail is so narrow and precise already. It is on par with the narrowest tails of the shortSUP range I think.

No, the 115 is an excellent board but the width makes us lightweights have to move both our feet to one side of the board to be able to get the board on the rail with power. Especially with some choppy waves this is not very efficient. And when you want to turn the other direction you have to move both feet again to the other side of the middle line. It is simply too wide for us.

The extreme Freak 120 is also an excellent shape but it has to much volume for us. It floats to high in the water and therefore becomes unstable. I can't handle choppy windy conditions as good as I would with a 110, with the same dimension as the 120. After the takeoff it is much easier to handle the volume.

I will also order a custom if the 2020 line is out of my league. If custom orders are still possible?

Thanks for the offer, I am just a bit curious about the 2020 boards before I make up my mind. Any idea how long we have to wait for the info on the web?

2023: Karmen custom 7'11" 118L
