Hi! Yesterday, when I finnished my wing session, it suddenly exploded when I was deflating it. I Opened the main vale, and after 2 or 3 seconds, the central bladder exploded. It has created a nice hole.

This morning I visited a man who works to repair sails and he said he can't repair it. He does not know wich is the correct technique to repair it since he can not sew from the back. It seems that the break is located in a very bad place

Has a begginer I want to ask the doctors in this room what would be the best option to save the life of this young beauty.
Does gong offer wing repair service? What do you recommend? Thanks

I has already ordered a full bladder set.

Hello,

honestly, I don't understand how it can happen. What I saw in few kites it was due to a too fast deflating. The balance between LE and strut is too quickly changed by a fast deflating and one part can explode, but the bladder only, not the Dacron.

Anyway, I am very sad for you. The only way is to rebuilt the wing. So maybe a professional is more indicated.

We use the best material. It can't be made better. Really.

Very sorry.

I'm agree with you. I can not understand how it happened. At first I thought that maybe it had been punctured by some nail or iron hidden in the sand.
but i think the rapid change in pressure seems to be the cause.

Today I'll go to Barcelona to meet with a woman who works to repairs sails to evaluate if she can fix it.

IF SHE CAN NOT REPAIR IT...

What do you recommend Ours? Can I send it to Gong to repair it? Do I have to contact with Jaime for pricing for this repairing? My holyydays starts in 3 weeks and I do not want to travel without the wing and my flint

Hello,

it is not difficult to repair a wing. It just takes time to undo and redo all stitching.

Let us know.

Thanks,

Just to inform other forum users the price in Barcelona to repair the wing its near 250€.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/ERLkHkQ9a4iAsTwM9

She said the most probably cause of the explosion could be some grain sand between the dacron and the bladder inside the wing. The high pressure caused a nice explosion enough to shred the stitch.

So, final pricing in this case 319€ ( 250€ + 69€ (7m bladder set)

Will send a photo when its done.

Hello,

the cause is false in my opinion. Sand could only damage your wing after years.

And the price is 100€ too high. Here it is between 150€ to 170€ for this. 250€ is for a wing 100€ destroyed.

Sorry,

For sure next time I'll send to Gong for repairing service. It has been a rookie mistake. I just hope geodis doesn't cause more damage to the wing.

Im trying to replace the central bladder of my wing 7m and I can't do it. I'm scared to break the inflatable plastic.

Wich should be the correct direction to insert it? I'm using and small rope from one side to other and tied to the inflatable plastic to pull gently.

Should I insert the rope into the valve hole so that it comes out from the back and pull the inflatable plastic with the rope? or viceversa? Could you help me?
