Which wing....???

Hi, I have the original 5m wing which I've enjoyed learning to use on my Sup. I've been out in 30 knots with waves on my Zero which was fun and am very comfortable with the wing!! I have been on it 20+ times.

Due to Covid and delivery I have just 1 go with the foil and wing. I also put a rip in it which was my fault and it will be repaired. I have no Foil experience and will be going behind a boat this week to learn, very excited..

I have no wind surf or kite surf experience and am 75kgs.

I have discovered a place in my estuary that I can launch from at high tide which 2 minutes from my house I think I will be able to practice every time there's wind as I work from home. Some weeks perhaps 4 or 5 sessions dependant on wind.

One question, is there much difference between 2019 and 2020 Plus?

Secondly.. In the summer we have lots of days 10 to 15 or 12 to 17 knots. I wondered about selling my 5m and getting a 6m Plus to help in the lighter winds and also to aid getting up on the foil as a beginner? Or perhaps a 6m superpower and keep the 5m for windier days. Or is the superpower only for experts? I am very comfortable handling the wing just not the foil yet. In Autumn we have some big winds and a 4 would be ideal.

Choice..
1) Keep the original 5m and learn with some days lost as too light wind, when proficient foiler change wing

2) keep 5m and add 6m superpower

3) sell 5m. Buy 4m plus and 6m superpower or plus

4) sell 5m buy 2020 5m plus

Or other suggestion..

Im loving learning and The Hipe board looks great..

the best solution is number 3 :
3) sell 5m. Buy 4m plus and 6m superpower or plus.

Note that wing is like windsurfing: you will probably need one wing every square meter. You can do it with two square meters between each wing, but sometime this step will feel to large to be comfortable.

Option 3 sounds good although...

I have just realised the Plus does not do a 6m only 7m. I am only 5'9 will a 7m be too big? As a beginner (although comfortable with the wing) do you think..

3a) 7m Plus and new 5m Plus
3b) 6m SP and 4m Plus

Hello,

3B will give you a wider range. But it is possible that you feel a need for a 5 between them.
If you change the 4 Plus for a 4 Pulse, you will reduce the gap in your quiver, it makes more sens.
