MOB FSP 2X 8'3 for intermediate rider?

Message par vdiogo » lun. janv. 27, 2020 1:30 pm

Hi guys

First post on the forum and looking to see if you could provide me guidance.

I'm 90kg/ 1,86m coming from a 10'5 152L board and looking to evolve on wave SUP. I'm originally coming from wave kitesurfing and some kite foiling.

I'm considering the GONG SUP MOB FSP 2X 8'3 so any considerations, suggestions, thoughts are more than welcome.

Many thanks

Hi vdiogo,

It seems quite a sane choice: the reduction in length and weight will make the board nimbler, while at the same time keeping a nice stability with its width at the tips. And the it will not be too drastic a step down in volume from your current board.

You will have less paddling speed and glide than on a 10'5", but better accelerations and easier turns.

Basically you have 3 choices:
- NFA if you want to glide and do noserides
- Mob if you want stability and accelerations
- Karmen if you want paddle speed and carving

But all these 3 FSP2X shapes can do all of course: you can carve turns on the Mob an NFA, as well as do some noserides on the Mob and Karmen, the paddling speed difference exists but is small, etc... You can choose based on your tastes without closing any possibilities. The FSP line is more versatile than the Pro line.
2019: 7'3" Fatal 105L, Alley 7'8" 105L & 8'1" 120L, Zero 9'0" 115L
2022: Mob 7'6" cool 120L, Alleys custom 7'10" 112L & 8'1" 114L
2023: Karmen custom 7'11" 118L
Surf: 9'1" XTR proto glider
