The practice of Wing at high level is evolving and it is becoming obvious that you will not be able to cover all your needs with a single wing shape.

We have often encountered wind conditions that require more power than with a “classic” Wing. In lighter wind conditions of course, but also on complicated spots with high wind speeds, currents or large wind variations.

In order to get the most out of these marginal conditions we have developed a specific Wing with a very low ratio. By compacting its shape, we have greatly lengthened the central length while reducing the wingspan. The power is clearly superior!!

We wanted a compact, hyper rigid Wing, with a deep and very wedged hollow section while maintaining total control over depower and have serious maneuverability. Its shape is reminiscent of very compact and maneuverable freestyle Kites. This moderate wingspan is greater on these large surfaces of 6m2 and 9m2!

Like the Pulse, the Superpower introduces a new generation of profiles capable of developing performance comparable to Kitesurfing and Windsurfing. It is totally stable when evolving at high speeds, to optimize the upwind and to have all the necessary firmness in the relaunching.

The de-segmentation of the leading edge in its central portion is a key to this new shape. The hollow section faces a long seamless section on the leading edge. The Superpower is much stiffer. A characteristic that’s doubled by our double layer reinforcement in this section!

The tips are very compact for easy and intuitive handling.

We’ve boosted the power base with a top recess and marked it with an extra panel between the batten and spinnaker. This panel allowed us to reduce the diameter of the batten, resulting in a significant weight loss.

With its two large windows ideally placed, you attack the jibes with confidence. The windows are not useful in navigation because you are looking ahead, not downwind. But taking a look without having to lift up your Wing before the jibe is a plus for attacking hard.

On the water the Superpower turns very average sessions into a great session. As soon as you get a trickle of air, the Super Power gives you the torque you need for efficient pumping. And once you’re in the air, there’s no softness to stop you. It’s really impressive.

It’s got a lot of torque, and it’s also very stable, with the hollow facing you. This makes it the queen of racing with upwind support and full on downwinds that are absolutely thrilling. But don’t limit it to just cromag navigating. It is a fabulous Wing in the waves for example, for those who know the European wave sails, it is exactly that: aft hand available but neutrality on request.

If you want to fly no matter what, the Super Power is a must.

This New Wing benefits from our best construction, currently the strongest on the market with double thickness leading edge segments and reinforced seams. This is a far cry from basic Kite technology. Our Wings are built to last and accept the constraints of this new sport. We use the best materials available while keeping our prices low thanks to our no middleman sales system. With basic materials, it would be 30% cheaper, but less durable and much less efficient. Quelle taille ?

Voici la plage de vent conseillée :

Ne surestimez pas la puissance des wing. Le baratin ambiant consiste à vous faire croire que vous allez vous éclater avec une 4m2 dans 15nds, voire 8nds… C’est vraiment de l’enfumage qui vise à vous faire craquer sur une aile moins chère.


Quel quiver ?

La Wing Superpower se marie à la perfection avec une Lemon et notre Allvator Monobloc carbone 100cm et des ailes rapides. C’est le combo hautes performances.

Vous pourrez (devrez) ajouter à ce combo un SUP pour les jours sans vent, et surement une planche dédiée au surf. Mais si vous allez vers la wing, c’est que vous avez peut-être déjà ces jouets dans le garage 😉


Quel leash ?

Prenez un leash de 5’ à 6’ dans le vent léger et un 10’ dans le vent fort. De préférence un modèle dédié à la wing et de type téléphone.

Vérifiez son état avant chaque session et changez-le tous les ans. C’est votre gilet de sauvetage.

Ne laissez pas votre wing battre dans le vent au bout du leash, il n’est pas incassable ! Idem dans les vagues, ne retenez pas votre wing par le leash, elle va exploser ou vous allez vous blesser.


Harnais ou harnaisless ? 

Rider sans harnais est sexy car on se sent libre. On peut bouger dans tous les sens, c’est vraiment agréable. Par contre il faut peu toiler pour ne pas se faire allonger les bras. Cela signifie devoir pomper souvent pour décoller.

La Wing Superpower est la plus puissante, et donc pas la plus facile sans harnais.

A l’inverse, si on aime rider toilé, l’usage d’un harnais est quasi obligatoire si vous ne voulez pas faire des sessions bridées à une heure. Dans ce cas, la pose de lignes de harnais est super simple, (cf nos tutos sur le forum). Nous vous conseillons l’usage d’un harnais le moins rigide et enveloppant possible, avec un crochet type windsurf. Des bouts de 24 à 28cm.

Alors à vous de voir si la sensation prévaut sur les performances.

Don’t overestimate the power of the Wing. The word out there is to make you think you’re going to have a blast with a 4m2 in 15nds, even 8nds… It’s really smoke and mirrors to make you crack your wallet on a cheaper Wing.


Quiver Partners?

The Wing Superpower goes perfectly with a Lemon and our 100cm Carbon Monobloc Allvator and faster Front Wings. This is the high-performance combo.

You can (should) add to this combo a SUP for windless days, and surely a Board dedicated to surfing. But if you go for the Wing, you may already have these toys in the garage 😉


Which Leash?

Take a 5′ to 6′ Leash in light wind and a 10′ Leash in strong wind. Preferably a model dedicated to the Wing and coiled.

Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your lifejacket.

Don’t let your Wing flap in the wind at the end of the Leash, it is not unbreakable! Likewise, in the waves, do not hold your Wing by the Leash, it will explode or you will hurt yourself.


With or without Harness?

Riding without a Harness is sexy because it makes you feel free. You can move in all directions, it’s really nice. On the other hand, you don’t have to use a bigger Wing so as to avoid getting your arms stretched out. This means having to pump often to take off.

The Wing Superpower is the most powerful, and therefore not the easiest without a harness.

On the other hand, if you like to ride with the bigger sizes, the use of a Harness is almost mandatory if you don’t want to do one-hour restricted sessions. In this case, the installation of Harness lines is super simple, (see our tutorials on the Forum). We advise you to use a Harness that is as soft and as well wrapped as possible, with a Windsurfing type hook. Tips from 24 to 28cm.

Then it’s up to you to see if the feeling prevails over the performance.

    Feedback 6m Superpower :

    Deuxième session avec le harnais. La prise d’angle en upwind est folle !!! Lorsque l’on remonte au vent, la wing est presque à la verticale et le bord d’attaque est très proche de la planche. Le feeling est dingue, et la puissance est énorme pour se lancer. Nous sommes vraiment chanceux en Suisse, car nous ne sommes pas en confinement total. Nous avons un vent de nord qui souffle depuis samedi dernier entre 15-30 Nds, même si il est très froid. Aujourd’hui, la session s’est terminée avec 10-17 Nds. Cette 6m Superpower est un vrai monstre.

    Feedback 6m Superpower:

    2 nd session. With harness. Look at the upwind angle! Crazy!!! The wing is almost vertical and the edge of the wing very close to the board… When riding upwind. Such a great feeling, and the power for starting is huge. We are among the lucky ones here in Switzerland, so far no total lockdown. We have the northerly wind blowing since Saturday (la bise) from 15-30 kn, albeit super cold polar wind. Today it finished with 10-17 kn. A beast this 6m super power!

    Premier petit report de la 9m Superpower fraîchement récupérée au shop hier après midi ! Donc j’arrive à la maison un petit 5/8 Nds tout moisi dans l’entrée du port. Je me dis que c’est l’occasion ou jamais de tester… Bon,  un peu cuit de 2h30 de nav’ le matin à La Baule mais la tentation était trop grande.

    Je déballe, déjà elle en impose la bête. A côté, la 6m Superpower me fait penser à une aile pour nains ! Du haut de mes 1m76, je me dis que ça risque d’être problématique au décollage, je doute.

    Je gonfle et je me mets à l’eau en Lemon 5’0, XXL Curve, et go. Je scrute la petite risée qui arrive, je pompe et sur la phase où je tire l’aile vers moi en gros je trouve qu’il ne s’est rien passé. Bizarre. Mais 1/4 de seconde plus tard, je ressens dans le bras un genre d’effet ressort qui me fait fortement alléger la planche, rebelote et paf au 2ème effet ressort je suis en l’air, bluffant. Petit bord de 100m et il faut déjà tourner, je switche les pieds et là l’aile tourne tranquille, aussi facile que la 6m et c’est reparti dans l’autre sens.

    30 minutes plus tard après de nombreux vols l’essai est concluant. Bilan, super aile qui va me sauver pas mal de sessions dans des conditions marginales, une très bonne surprise. Je doutais un peu du gain de plage basse par rapport à ma 6m Superpower. Comme promis je gagne les 3/4 Nds qui manquent souvent et font la différence entre rester sur la plage et se faire un bon petit kiff !

    First a short feedback of the 9m Superpower freshly recovered from the shop yesterday afternoon! So I arrive at home a small  and soft 5/8 knots  in the entrance of the port. I say to myself that it is the occasion or never to test… And I was a little burnt after  2h30 of riding in the morning in La Baule but the temptation was too big.

    I unpack, and the beast is already imposing itself. Next to the 6m Superpower makes me think of a Wing for dwarves! From the top of my 1m76, I tell myself that it could be problematic at takeoff, I doubt.

    I inflate and I put myself in the water with the Lemon 5’0, XXL Curve, and go. I notice the incoming gentle breeze, I pump it and in the phase where I pull the Wing towards me I find that nothing happening. Strange. But 1/4 of second later I feel in my arm a kind of spring effect that makes me lighten the Board, reboot and bang with the 2nd spring effect I’m in the air, mind-blowing. A 100m tack and it’s already time to turn, I switch the feet and the Wing turns quietly as easy as the 6m and it’s gone in the other direction.

    30 minutes later after many flights the test is conclusive. Super Wing which will save me a lot of sessions in marginal conditions, a very good surprise. I was a little bit doubtful about the gain of low range compared to my 6Superpower. As promised I win the 3/4 knots which are often missing and make the difference between staying on the beach and having a good time!

Generalities about the Wing:

The Wing is an inflatable structure directly in the rider’s hands. Handles allow you to control its flight and the power delivered.

The Wing’s number one asset is its smoothness. Much less powerful than a Kite and much lighter than a Windsurfing glider, the Wing makes you feel lighter in weight.

Ideal motor for a Foil, it is much more reassuring than a Kite and much easier to handle than a Windsurfing sail.

It is the perfect machine:

  • Compact, it fits in a car and is easy to fly.
  • Lightweight, you can ride your Quiver without struggling.
  • You can launch anywhere, except in the shore break.
  • Very insensitive to the quality of the wind. If it lulls hard, we go home quietly.
  • An almost infinite potential for surfing and tricks.
  • High performance for a minimum of constraints.
  • The attraction of new things, it’s good to change sometimes.
  • Smile, smile and smile.

With its smooth glide, you can handle the gusts without flinching as it absorbs everything for you. So, you don’t need a Harness because its flexible structure deforms to naturally release excess power. Pros who overpower themselves can put on a Harness to boost performance.

Ideal with a Foil, it requires more air than a Kite which will always have the advantage of pulling a lot from 4/5 knots. The Wing will require between 10 and 15 knots to express itself on a Foil and will remain super easy even in 35 knots, even 50 knots, where the Kite often rhymes with big risks.

It is great with multiple supports such as:

  • SUPFoil
  • SurFoil
  • Stand Up Paddle “SUP” (rigid or inflatable)
  • Skate
  • Rollerblade
  • Mountain Board
  • Anything that slides on snow
  • Etc.

The advantages of the Wing are clearly identified: simplicity, compactness and lightness provide unequalled freedom of movement and ease of handling. The Wing is ready to fly in 1min chrono: no lines to unroll, just two flexible slats to insert in their sheaths, a few strokes and off you go.

The technology used to make the Wings is very close to that of our Kite, but much stronger. Multiple reinforcements are present on the stress zones according to the different uses.

The shape of the Wing is “self-stable”. Don’t imagine orienting it by the force of the wrists on a boom: it doesn’t work like that. You put your back hand down: The Wing goes flat over your head. You put it up and the Wing goes vertical. Easy!

You must read the detailed user manual completely before using your Wing for the first time.

Be sure to have a full understanding of it. Wings can be dangerous depending on their size and the strength of the wind. You have to check the wind range of your wing so that it corresponds with conditions and your actual skill level.

For the first few sessions, never use your new Wing in its high wind range. Use your Wing in a secure environment. Take the necessary time to learn how to handle the equipment under optimum safety conditions. Never underestimate the traction power of your Wing. Even a beginner’s Wing can develop a pulling force of several hundred kilos depending on its size and the strength of the wind. Do not overestimate your abilities. Misuse can cause serious injury or death to the practitioner or others. Do not use your Wing at sea in offshore winds. Use your Wing equipped with a leash. Be careful to avoid any collision. Be extremely careful if you sail with your Wing and a board equipped with a foil.
