Introduction
The Lance Surf Foiling board is perfect for beginner foilers and those who do not connect the whole set by pumping, so 90% of foilers.
The board remains in standard length and width. Thanks to its very worked shape, it gives an immense margin for progression. For instance the hollowed out tail favors the take off but does not penalize the curves. The rounded point nose carries well but without heaviness thanks to the double concave under the hull which lightens and softens.
The Lance is therefore perfect for paddling. It may seem pointless when you only dream of flying, but once you’ve flown 300m and you have to paddle everything back, you bless this shape which has retained a real paddling capacity ?
The deck plan is slightly domed to maintain comfort. With the strap inserts, you can surf foil with maximum control and commitment! Paddling on the straps is not very comfortable, but once your feet are strapped you enter another world. This will only affect 5% of users, but who can do more can do less.
Built in FSP 2X, this PVC biaxial full sandwich board is the strongest in our range.

Equipments
The Lance FSP 2X are equipped with a front pad and a high-end Square 5mm thick tail pad that provide maximum grip and comfort in the surf, while protecting the board from shocks.
These boards are fitted with two US boxes with 9cm center distance (the standard box for foil plates on the market).
You can therefore mount all the foil plates in the world according to your desires and your style.
The goofy and regular multi-position strap inserts allow you to mount straps for your stance. This will give you a more direct and precise control in your maneuvers.
The pressure relief screw is automatic. It is made up of a waterproof membrane that allows air to pass through. It will handle the common variations in pressure between the outside and the inside of your board. The durability gain is considerable, without having to worry about it.
And with the leash plug on the back of the board to secure your leash, nothing is missing.
Construction
These boards are equipped with our innovative and high-end technology called FSP 2X for the best weight / strength / performance compromise on the market. It’s quite simply the ultimate in custom vacuum fiberglass techno, as standard.
The shape is cut with a numerical control (CNC) from a high-end and lightweight EPS foam blank.
We glue in vacuum on the entire board, at a pressure of several tons, a fiberglass and high density PVC foam (called Airex) which forms a hydrophobic shell of 3mm that’s super strong and rigid.
Then we apply a biaxial fiberglass which completely covers the sandwich of the board. This super strong mesh acts as a protective grid with its large strands of fiber. It boosts performance by taking over the flex tensions and reinforcing the board for increased durability. This biaxial layer is covered by a classic fiberglass for a nice finish.
These outer layers are also placed in vacuum. This modern process densifies the composite and leaves it only the exact dose of useful resin. The rest is absorbed by a blotting cloth to make your board as light as possible.
Then come the finishing coats with a first hot coat in epoxy resin, super resistant to impact. Then a polyester hot coat which will equalize the micro variations of the surface (less than a millimeter).
And finally the decoration which is as light as possible, therefore with transparency effects which reveal the construction for the greatest pleasure of the eyes. We don’t like painting because it puts on a lot of weight and it’s fragile. We prefer noble materials directly accessible under your eyes and sublimated by some stylish decorative elements.

Shape
- Rocker: 100% foil for paddling faster and pumping without touchdowns.
- Rails: faceted and generous to have a great stability at take-off and avoid braking in the curves.
- Volume: important to paddle fasst and take-off early.
- Outline: slender with generous tips to be fast and easy
- Tail: Large, faceted diamond tail for immediate glide and control in choppy water without losing speed on a touchdown.
- Nose: round pin with a very pronounced double concave underneath, it facilitates the management of touchdowns in choppy water.
- Deck: flat deck plan to keep control despite the volume.
- Bottom: flat hull in the center for early take-off and double concave under the front third for cushioning.
A harmonious board: a generous but discreet thickness, tips that give lift without becoming bulky, and a length necessary for paddling but without excess.
The hull shape with a double concave nose dampens the touchdowns by dissipating energy and guiding the board in the axis before takeoff. The Lance is soft, and stiff.
Its very pronounced kick tail as well as the facets on the rails allow you to fly serenely without being afraid of losing all your speed on the slightest touchdown on a chop or in tight curves.

Buying guide
For Whom?
The Lance is the best surf foil board to start and progress.
Whether you’re a lightweight or of a strong build, the Lance range offers all the solutions.
With its length sufficient to paddle quickly, you easily paddle back to the peak and drop. This is crucial.
What is it for?
You want to start in surf foiling: it will be ideal and will follow you for a very long time.
This ideal paddle length will help you on spots where you can’t reach the peak just on pumping, and there are plenty of them.
What size?
- The 5’0 x 40L is short and easy: light beginners or with a good level in surfing.
- The 5’4 x 48L is powerful and bulky, perfect for simple beginnings.
- The 5’8 x 54L is super comfortable; ideal for bigger foilers who are beginners.
In any case, these are shapes that are easy to paddle with great performance for those who do not yet connect 3 waves per take off, and who will therefore need to paddle.
Remember that paddling 300m on a 5’4 can be quite an effort as it is. So starting with a 4’2 would be a bad idea.
How to choose the size of the board bag for my Surf Foil Board Lance?
Understanding the GONG range?
We can very simply summarize the concepts of each board in our range:
HIPE: the inflatable with 95% of the stiffness. Ideal for beginners and much more!
Lance: the easy surf foiling board that’s comfortable to paddle.
Matata: maximum compactness for an unmatched reactivity.
Lethal: speed, control and total radicality for the pros.
What is the ideal foil?
The Lance works great with our Allvator foils.
To start the Rise or theX-Over front wing are the best choices because they make your first steps easier. They fly at very low speeds. Therefore it’s less scary and you can fly in almost nothing.
Then you should switch to wings with more performance to gain top speed and seek high performance.
The must is to upgrade this foil with a 70cm monobloc carbon Pro mast.
And for beginners, a shorter mast is easier.
Quiver partners?
If you’re into surf foiling you’ll be into classic surfing when the waves are good and hollow. You will have a wide range of choice in our range to complete your quiver.
Surf foiling tends to eat up the usual SUP program because it enjoys the same waves. It’s not easy to marry the two but having diversity in a quiver is always a plus. Surf foiling is typically perfect in the conditions of an NFA for example.
We will often complement a surf foiling board with a wing because it is the ideal combination when the wind is rising. The wing is really the ski lift for a surf foiler. It’s a completely natural extension of it.
Which settings?
A beginner will pull the foil all the way back.
And an expert will place his foil in the center of the boxes.
Which leash?
A short leash, a 5′ of 6 mm is sufficient in small waves. A 6′of 7mm will be much safer as soon as it gets bigger. It’s your lifejacket, you have to use it to protect yourself and others. It is imperative to renew it every year because it wears out.
Strap or strapless ?
On a Lance, 95% of people will surf it without straps because they are not suitable for the beginner program. Nonetheless, we have added inserts to upgrade your board and your performance in future days.
With straps you will have a lot more control and a lot less risk of hitting the foil that flips under your feet. You can recover from crazy situations just by pulling on the feet.
Put your straps in the central position (3rd hole) for the fronts, and the same goes for the rear strap if you are using it as well.
If you want to be able to extend the rear foot for pumping, place the rear strap at the first or second hole.
How to place and adjust your straps?
Equipments
- 2 US boxes allow the assembly of a foil equipped with a plate of 4 screws + nuts.
- A 5 mm grooved deck pad for absolute grip and comfort, incorporating a tail pad with kicker for perfect strapless rear foot positioning. Deck pad and tail pad glued during manufacture, in the factory.
- 8 inserts of 5-hole footstraps to optimize your position, Goofy or Regular. Screws and washers for the straps included (straps not supplied).
- Leash plug Concrete Fixed at the tail so you never lose your board.

Delivery
Delivery delay
We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.
The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.
We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.
Shipping fees
Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.
Tracking your package
Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.
Carriers
We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.
For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.
For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.
For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.
Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.
Eco-responsible packaging
Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.

Receipt of your product

Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.

Warning
When you practice Foil you expose yoursef to possible serious Risks. A poor mastering of a Foil can expose you to Cuts and/or Serious Bodily Harm, even Death for youself and possibley others around you.

When handling and manipulating a Foil be careful not to cut yourself along its edges.
