Tear it up in all wave conditions, a pure Shortboard that is easy to paddle.
The Karmen FSP 2X are variations of our Best Seller 2019 shape in different volumes, lengths and widths to suit everyone’s desires. This fluid and comfortable shape is built in a Brand New 2X Biaxial Sandwich Technology that saves you 15% weight AND strength!
2 main working axes guided its development: The Bullet nose and the single concave hull (under the rowing position) then a double concave (between the feet in surf position) ending in a V (under the rear foot).
The shape of this nose allows to move the useful volume towards the center by reducing the volume of the ends (nose and tail). This new distribution of the useful volume results in a more fluid surfing with less inertia at the extremities. Stability is better than with a nose point, so you can choose the right volume without fear of repeated falls as soon as the water gets rough. Another advantage of this round nose is that it does not make rowing mistakes at the take-off, it does not throw the Board to the side when it pearls, so this crucial phase is less technical. It’s a good balance between the nose point of an Alley Pro and the wide square nose of a Mob.
The Karmen FSP 2X are boards 100% designed for radical turns: rollers, top turns, slashes, powerful cutbacks, catching air and waves, it turns very quick and on demand. Ideal for those who want to produce an aggressive surf with a good paddle and comfort.
We offer them in 8 sizes: 6’10, 7’3, 7’8, 7’11, 8’4, 8’9, 9’2 & 9’10 to satisfy all sizes.
These boards are equipped with an innovative technology called FSP 2X for the best weight / strength / performance ratio on the market. The gain is significant since it is on average 15% lighter than the 2019 FSPs. The addition of a biaxial fiber greatly strengthens the board, so no concessions have been made on the exemplary strength of the FSPs, on the contrary. It is by designing a new finishing technique, as close as possible to our prototypes made in our French factory, that we have succeeded in saving weight. We work with tinted resins to avoid as much as possible the paint that loads the board unnecessarily. Paint integrated into the resin, your board is enhanced with nobility and durability.
The Karmen FSP 2X are equipped with the 3D Function pad 2020 which is more resistant and provides maximum comfort and grip. In addition, we offer them with 5 FCS II Fin Boxes. The highest standard in Fins boxes on the market. You will be able to mount your Board in Tri Fin or Quad according to your own desires and surf style and give you access to a catalog and infinite possibilities for Fin mounting.

It’s the Board for the one who doesn’t want any hassles: it works all the time.
It will be perfect for a Pro who wants comfort and high performance. But also for an almost beginner who will find in the big sizes a mellow and progressive Board.
Neither wide nor narrow, it is easy to paddle and fast. You don’t need to be a world champion to stand on it.
The range comes in all possible sizes: there is one bound to be yours.
Either you’re a hot head, and you want to size down, or you want a cool Board and you’re going to take it generously in volume.
The Karmen is the Board that does it all.
Small or big waves, soft or hollow, glassy or windy, smooth curves or angry tricks, it goes everywhere.
The 6’10 is best of the line for pros up to 65kg.
The 7’3 is best for pros up to 75kg.
The 7’8 is best for experienced riders up to 85kg.
The 7’11 is best for experienced riders weighing up to 95kg.
The 8’4 is starting to settle down, ideal for those under 90kg.
The 8’9 is cool for those under 90kg who are not very sporty and want comfort.
The 9’2 is « easy » for those under 100kg who are not very sporty and want comfort.
The 9’10 is super easy for everyone.
The Karmen is the nucleus Board in a SUP Quiver. It’s self-sufficient and goes with everything. It’s often the Board we take when the choice is not clear. If hesitating: Karmen!
When the conditions are ideal for a Noserider, it’s obvious. We will launch an NFA or a Noserider even more typified like the Pampa or the Never Stick.
If we want more explosiveness, we’ll complete this Karmen with a Fatal. And if we want more explosivity in the soft waves, we’ll get a Mob.
The Karmen will not have a hard time finding its place in a surfing Quiver because it’s a Board that does everything or almost everything. It will then be an alternative, but not a complement.
What kind of Fin mounting?
Tri-Fin is the best option for nice curves on the Karmen.
The Quad works very well, especially on the bigger sizes to maximize the grip of the tail and boost the Vmax and acceleration.
All the classic setups work, no particular gain in performance if you’re trying to get exotic. A good set of Performers will be perfect. Switch to Carvers if you want more directional stability (control).
Especially no Reactor.
To go further in the performance, Toledo and Wilson are top of the line, Fanning are more powerful for the same size. These Fins are only sold as a Tri-Fin set. To be completed with retail rear Quads if you want all the configurations.
Take your recommended Fin size or just above. No less. You will need grip to operate it.
Reminder of the recommended FCS2 Fin sizes:
XS for those under 55 kg / 120 Lbs
S for 55 kg – 70 kg / 120 Lbs – 155 Lbs
M for 65 kg – 80 kg / 145 Lbs – 175 Lbs
L for 75 kg – 90 kg / 165 Lbs – 200 Lbs
XL for those over 85 kg / 190 Lbs.
Note that before the Board shape, it is the material of the Fins that makes the performance. Keep in mind that the stiffer a Fin is, the more it works. Yes, a pro needs good Fins, but an amateur also needs to go fast because speed is the basis of all maneuvers.
Never go shorter, except when Kiting.
A surfer who wants more speed, to make more even beautiful curves, to surf cleaner, to work on his speed gain, will take one size above the recommended size.
How to compose a Quad that suits you:
In a setup that mixes sets, consider that the front Laterals do the grip and the acceleration; and the rear ones do the pivot, the drive and a little bit of grip. So, focus on sweet Laterals adapted to your need for power and speed.
Flat inner-sided Quad rears have more grip and less glide. A stronger grip, but a Vmax and a mania one hair below the curved inner faces (20/80 for example). Favor the flat sides despite everything.
And too big Quad rears totally block the handling of your Board, giving you the impression that its tail « floats » too much in the curves. Hateful. Better too small than too big.
In 9’10 the Karmen is in 2+1, so two FCS2 Laterals and a US Center. The goal is to increase the size of the center to give more drive to this big Board. To make it more manageable, you can equip it with a sharper fin than the standard one. You can keep two big Laterals and mount a 6 » or 7 » Clique, or Connect Center Fins, which will give you more smoothness in the rail to rail, and make the rollers in automatic. The front of the Center Fin 1cm behind the tips of the Laterals for maximum maneuverability and 5cm behind the tips of the Laterals for maximum control.
Some major assembly guidelines:
Laterals of 115mm + 6 » Center : not enough drive, it’ll skid out a lot.
Laterals of 115mm + Center of 7 » : ideal for a maximum of mania and freedom in the curves.
Laterals of 115mm + Center of 8 » : perfect turn management and nice curves.
Laterals of 115mm + Center of 9 » : a lot of drive, probably too much.
Laterals 115mm + 10 » Center : too much unless you weigh 120 kg.
The front of the Center Fin 1cm to 2cm behind the tips of the Laterals.
How Long Should My Paddle Be?
Between your height and your head +5cm, ideally in Pro for the weight. You can take a little shorter if you are oriented on a radical drive. Some people cut it to eyebrow height.
Take the length of your Board: 7’0to 10’0.
Less shoulder size, a reduced diameter (6mm) will make you gain a lot of speed. Above, you must have 7mm minimum.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your lifejacket.
4 FCS II Glass Flex Fins, for Quad mounting (2+1 mounting for the 9’10).
1 central box, FCS II, high resistance reinforced with PVC HD along the longitudinal axis of the board.
4 lateral, forward and behind, FCS II boxes, high resistance reinforced with PVC HD for Quad mounting.
3D Function Pad (5mm): “Intelligent” deck coating conceived to deliver a different feeling under foot to differentiate zones with comfort and total adherence.
Integrated central Carry Handle on the board deck.
Leash plug Concrete Fixed at tail to never lose your board.
GONG SUP KARMEN FSP 2X: from 699 €
We make quality products. We are not “low cost”.
We sell simply without an intermediary thanks to the internet: direct from Shaper to Surfer at the LOWEST price..
If we sold this board in a surfshop, it would cost 1399€ (taking into account traditional margins that we should offer to distributers and stores).
The dates of availability of all our products are written on each product page, in the size and colour of the product concerned.
These dates are valid at the moment you consult the site and/or place an order. It is possible that this product may be ordered a few seconds after your consultation. It then becomes unavailable. If you have placed an order, this change does not concern you: the product you order is still available on the date indicated at the time of your order.
We sell several thousand products per week. The stocks are therefore very evolutionary. But our management always shows you the real availability live.
If it’s available online: it’s available 😉
Some articles are proposed in pre-order during their routing to our premises. You can buy this article which will arrive at our place in a few weeks. This method avoids the fair to grab upon receipt of the lot and the disappointed ones who would not order within the hour.
Upon receipt, we will ship it to you as a regular order.
The times indicated on the pre-orders are 95% reliable. First of all, because we only pre-sell finished products that are arriving to us after Customs, and therefore shipped right after. And also, because we add decent margins with concern to the dates announced by the shipping companies or railways.
However, a Worker Strike, a breakdown, an overbooking, can unfortunately happen. In the case of a delay, you will be notified by email (check your spam). It is generally less than a week and totally independent of our good will.
As soon as we receive the container in La Baule, we ship your order within three working days. Then the carrier takes over: delivery time and tracking numbers are under their responsibility.
It is possible that the date displayed on the online for the pre-order of the item you have ordered and paid for may change for two reasons:
All quantities of the batch are sold (most common reason). In this case, orders placed for the first container will be delivered as scheduled.
The container is late and we have to shift the date by a few days. (Strikes, breakdowns, overbooking, can unfortunately happen). You will be notified by email.
We never change the delivery dates of a container without notifying customers.
The dates that we announce are shipping deadlines, which GONG has in stock and available here physically.
We usually give a shipping time within 3 days, but in most cases, we ship within 24/48 hours. Normally morning orders leave in the afternoon for example.
Then the transport service takes over. The variables are then important between the customer being delivered to France (very fast) or Bulgaria (a good week) or to a forwarding agent or to Asia or the USA… You understand that each location has its own type of delay.
We work with serious and well-known carriers. They do their utmost to make you happy even if a snafu can happen. In any case, we are there to make things easier and to arrange our customers.
Contrary to others, we do not hide shipping costs in the price of our products. At GONG everyone knows exactly what he pays. The transport is charged at its strictest value, and the person who comes to pick up his products does not pay hidden transport fees.
Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address. To this is added a labour time of order preparation.
The invoicing of the shipping costs is identical in continental France and in the bordering European countries. A surcharge is automatically invoiced for deliveries to the most distant European countries and all European islands.
For a shipment in French overseas departments and territories or outside Europe, our logistics department will contact you before the payment stage to give you an estimate of the shipping costs. You will be able to accept this estimate and pay your order, or refuse it and cancel your order.
We answer you within 24 hours by email. But 95% of your questions are answered on the site. Try to use our contact form which will guide you to all these answers.
Don’t forget to read the Forum, where thousands of users exchange information and experiences.
In any case, don’t panic. If you don’t get an answer during the weekend, it’s normal: the team is resting 😉
We are passionate and professional in our job. Our only goal is to make you happy, as much as possible 😉
Preserving the environment is a top priority. That’s why we are doing everything possible to reduce our environmental footprint.
The first thing is to sell quality products that will last, be repairable and will please you for a long time.
The second thing is to sell for less. Most of the pollution coming from a Board is in its use (the km driven to use it) and in the countless environmental damages you have to do to pay for it. Each euro spent is a sum of damage related to your life quite simply: eating, working hard etc… By reducing the price of our products, we significantly reduce your ecological footprint on this item.
For our shipments we use:
Flexi-Hex: ecological packaging of very high resistance.
Paper Craft Scotch Tape.
Final packaging made of high-end cardboard.
All this for:
Reusable and recyclable packaging.
An almost total reduction of single-use plastic.
Maximum protection and impact resistance thanks to the innovative design of Flexi-Hex honeycomb (35mm thick).
Tracking of your parcels :
The tracking of deliveries is directly ensured by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your parcels. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose the delivery methods and to follow the route of your package.
If you ask us for this tracking, we will have to do as you do: we will go see on the carrier’s app because they are the ones who manage and are responsible for this job.
We collaborate with the best transport providers to deliver you everywhere in Europe and in the world in very short delays.
We have chosen them for their quality of service and their respect of deadlines. 80% of your orders reach their destination in less than 48 hours of processing in metropolitan and continental France.
For Europe, the delays vary from 3 to 6 days depending on the country of destination.
For the rest of the world, delays can be up to 15 days.
Please note that the transport time is added to the preparation/shipping time. Two companies work on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one controls its activity and commits itself to optimize its delays so that you are delivered as soon as possible, in good condition and at a reasonable price.
Reception of your Board:
Upon delivery, simply open and inspect the condition of your Board in the presence of the carrier. A complete email explaining the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.
In spite of our requirements and all the care we take in packaging and protecting your Board, transportation hazards may occur. Even if it concerns less than 2% of everything we ship around the world, a Board can suffer a more or less important transportation shock.
But in any case, don’t worry, just refuse it, and a new Board will be shipped back to you.
You can choose to return your products if:
You are not satisfied (14 days right of retraction).
You want to change an item.
You have refused your package.
For each situation, contact us by our contact form to help you.
