It has it all:

- a US box compatible with all the best fins,
- ergonomic silicone racing carrying handles,
- a central foam handle in soft neoprene,
- a tail pad with kicker for better control to better control it in the surf and place your rear foot correctly at the buoys.
Doubled Layered Welded Woven Dropstitch
With its top of the range inflatable technology in Doubled Layered Welded Woven Dropstitch, this GONG board is beautiful, light, very rigid and really solid.
The Couine Marie are the best, yet still accessible with our direct sales distribution that does not add margins.
We are far from the low cost boards made in low end factories by people who know nothing about it.
GONG is a serious and renowned brand, which got into stand up paddling in its very early days and brought it to the level of respectability that we know today. It is therefore unthinkable for us to make low-end products that we see in supermarkets.
Equipment
The Couine Marie RACE comes with a US central fin because the objective of the Couine Marie range is to have a high performance SUP.
When we know that the fin makes 50% of the performance of a board, GONG had to come up with a relevant solution.
This is why our inflatable SUPs offer a US box for the center fin.
Thus, you will have access to the largest standard on the high-end fin market. A huge choice of fins to adapt according to your level, your practice and the conditions.
It is equipped with four carrying handles to grab it easily.
- A central padded and neoprene handle to carry the board under your arm.
- Two ergonomic silicone “race” handles in the front third that allow you to either pass the foams by pulling the board, or to get out of the water by dragging the board over the water.
- A front handle for entering the water and for handling the board in the water or on land. Really practical!
The bungee cord at the front of the board is super practical for securing a dry bag or the paddle.
Perfect for bringing safety gear, water and a snack.
The large diameter leash ring is the strongest on the market.
And we’ve added a towing ring for safety, but also because it’s really handy to have an attachment point on the nose during transport, at anchor, or to secure a camera.
The Deck Pad is particularly designed to be efficient and comfortable. At the level of the bungee cord, the 5 mm Double Diamond Deck Pad allows the equipment to be well wedged during navigation. It does not move! When racing, the grooved Deck Pad is super comfortable, the feet are well anchored. At the tail, we find the 5mm Double Diamond Deck Pad with kicker which offers flawless grip and comfort, perfect for downwinds, surfing and manoeuvers. The supplied double-action inflation pump is super efficient to be the first in the water. A repair kit is also included in the event of damage (note the kit is delivered without glue which you will easily find in your DIY store).
Note that we have the components of your board in stock in order to repair it fairly easily.
Everything comes in a super practical and solid rolling carry bag.
- The wheels are on the opposite side to the carrying face so as not to pinch your buttocks when walking and not to roll on the carrying straps.
- These backpack straps are very padded and comfortable.
- The handles are super strong and comfy.
- The large front pocket allows you to store your accessories and personal effects without risking losing them.
- And the compression straps keep the bag volume to a minimum.

Made for gliding
This shape is made for gliding.
Its sleek lines are designed to promote paddling speed.
It is a clever adaptation of the thousands of templates that we have developed over the past 30 years that allows us to have such efficient and facilitating behavior.
In high tempo cruising, we appreciate its glide specific to inflatable boards, all in fluidity. Its almost constant rocker and narrow width allow for maximum speed.
The length of the board brings a lot of inertia, you go faster with less effort.
Thanks to its sufficiently large volume, it remains comfortable to paddle and effective in the relaunch phases. If you want to pick up the pace, its streamlined shape will accelerate with ease.
In terms of maneuverability, you have to have a precise stance with its very tapered tail, however once launched in a straight line, you appreciate its exceptional glide.
In more difficult conditions, its raised nose point allows you to pass the choppy water serenely.
For each size, the volume is large enough. This is the race shape for long distances.

Buying guide
For whom?
The shape of the board makes it ideal for experienced paddlers. Nothing insurmountable because the shape is available in two widths allowing you to choose the board adapted to your level.
On the other hand, we do not recommend it if you are a beginner because it remains a racing board.
For what?
Its program is to skim the surface as fast as possible, even in difficult conditions. It is therefore at ease on all bodies of water and in all weather conditions.
Rowing fast, training, high tempo rowing, going on beautiful downwinds, surfing small soft waves, racing… That’s what this board likes.
What size of Couine Marie Race 18’0 board?
Even if everything is possible, we mark here the main uses:
The 18’0 x 26 ’’ Race
- Outings of over an hour on rather calm bodies of water.
- Downwind: it’s tricky but it works with its wide tail.
- Rider size: It doesn’t matter as long as your level allows you to handle this racing shape.

What is the difference between our Chip range and Couine Marie range ?
Best quiver choices?
This board is perfect with aCarbon Pro GONG Paddle cut to the right size or adjustable, anda premium fiberglass or carbon fin.
What length of paddle?
If you want high performance, you will need a paddle of your size + 5cm to 15cm..
For cruising, a paddle your size +15 to +20 cm is ideal.
Its length determines your paddling frequency and turning radius.
Which leash?
For the Couine Marie RACE range, a 10 ’leash is ideal. Depending on your preferences and your use, you can choose a classic ankle or knee leash for a mixed cruising/surfing use, or a coiled leash that limits drag for a 100% cruising use.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your life jacket.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, let alone an inflatable board which will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it peel off because the materials it is made of become flexible in the heat. Never store it under a car window, or in contact with a heat source.
Never let your board get roughed up in the waves, especially when you’re close to the beach. You have to protect it from major strains. A wave that takes your board and rolls it can do damage.
Do not hold it by the leash indefinitely because it can give way under very high tension. Avoid big waves and don’t resist. If it breaks, it’s easy to change but annoying.
Stay away from oysters: this is one of the few seashells that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Be careful +++
Don’t let your inflatable board rub on something for a long time. It can happen on a boat, for example, that your board moves with each wave and rubs for hours in the same place. The material will disintegrate because it will be as sanded. You will have a hole that will need to be covered with a patch.
Never put the board between the wave and you: risk of a broken nose type injury ?
Do not paddle far at sea with an offshore wind, and avoid windy outings as it is rarely fun and always dangerous. SUP is an activity that involves real risks, even in seemingly peaceful conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.

Delivery
Delivery delay
We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.
The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.
We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.
Shipping fees
Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.
Tracking your package
Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.
Carriers
We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.
For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.
For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.
For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.
Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.
Eco-responsible packaging
Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.
The most important thing is to sell quality, durable products that will be repairable and will please you for a long time.
For our shipments, we use:

- Final packaging in high-end cardboard.
- For rigid boards: Flexi-Hex, very high resistance ecological packaging.
This means:
- Reusable and recyclable packaging.
- An almost total reduction in single-use plastic.
- Maximum protection and impact resistance for rigid boards thanks to the innovative Flexi-Hex honeycomb design (35mm thick).
Receipt of your product
Upon delivery, check the condition of your package in the presence of the carrier. A complete explanation email on the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.
Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.
Note that the products are protected in their carton. If you have any doubts, simply refuse delivery and contact us.
