3D View
The Wing Plus 5m From the get go, the Plus 5m feels light and well balanced. It positions itself perfectly in the wind. And from the first attempt at pumping it reveals its power and takes off without having to overpower. When you are starting out, you need a lightweight wing with a wide range of use. The Wing Plus V2 5m offers the best power-to-weight ratio to date. The evolution of this V2 is mainly about dynamism. The rotations and the piloting of the wing during maneuvers are even more lively. Lightness and dynamism increase tenfold the potential of the Plus V2 5m in the moves. And the acceleration capacity is further upgraded for high level freeride tacks. This wing, ideal for beginners, offers performance without limits, capable of performing in freerace, surf or freestyle. The most versatile wing to date. For more information, click here.
The Foil Rise XL This Foil Rise XL is the easiest to progress in wing foiling. Generous but without excess, they fly at very low speed, which is reassuring and allows you to complete maneuvers without being afraid. No need to overspeed to enjoy the Rise, you fly relaxed and you feel comfortable very quickly. The low ratio naturally reduces speed and increases tolerance. It’s ideal for feeling safe. The foil does not start at 25 knots as soon as you climb on it to catapult you into an uncontrollable fall. On the contrary, the Rise is gentle and simple. Be careful, it’s quite fast enough for a beginner because it will naturally go much faster than a surfboard! It’s not a turtle ? It’s simply adapted to the needs of a beginner who will regularly fly at very low speeds due to mistakes. And there the Rise will save you from losing the flight. A super reassuring wing in flight, but also in handling, so that your beginnings are really simple. Equipements :
- The foil consists of a Rise Front Wing XL with a 45 cm Rise Stabilizer.
- The 80cm Allvator Original aluminum mast and the fuselage will offer you nice perfs for an ultra tight price.
- The 4-hole plate, with standard center distances, will offer you a perfect connection between your foil and your board.
- The complete screw kit with tightening key is supplied. Everything is delivered in a very practical transport bag to store and transport your dismantled foil.
GLOBAL
HIPE First
The shape of the HIPE First is designed to facilitate beginnings. Great in flight, it is also designed to navigate easily on the water when take-off isn’t mastered yet.
Its rocker is relaxed at the nose then flat on the rest of the hull up to the tail to boost the take-off phase.
The wide but not excessive tail brings a lot of stability to accept positioning errors of beginners. It avoids the cork effect in the chop.
The max width is centered and generous to easily find your balance when on your knees, but also to help maneuverability on the tacks and during the first maneuvers on the water.
The nose remains thin in order not to stick to the water. The board is really pretty, and it works just as well gliding on the water as it does when flying.
The rails are round, as on all inflatable boards. We made use of this natural shape to help the water slide off the board. It does not stick to the rails, and this is even more so at the tail. This round tail is the most effective for gliding fast before flying.
You take off easily, at least as fast as with a rigid board. It’s really stunning.
- Rocker: rather flat for early take-offs and pre-flight glide.
- Rails: round because inflatable, very efficient.
- Volume: generous for each size.
- Outline: semi-compact for a good glide even when not flying.
- Tail : large round tail for stability at standstill and to boost take-offs.
- Nose : round point nose.
Wing
Its hollow is the most marked in the range after the SuperPower to take off early and facilitate frequent restarts when learning or trying tricks. What could be better than flying with two pumping strokes ?! when you know that you’ll have no problem taking off immediately, you try a lot more moves !!!
From the lightest to the stronger wind, the Wing Plus offers a huge range while remaining very light in hand. Its lightness is unbelievable thanks to an optimum mix of hollow and twist which releases the captured air.
In high range, the Plus V2 maintains exceptional control thanks to its slender shape and stable hollow to the new assembly tensions, we. Much like a camber sail, the Plus V2 holds up smoothly in slaps, with a non-moving hollow between the arms.
Seen from the front, the Wing Plus V2 has a little more V-shape than its sisters. Which makes it easier to fly. It doesn’t tend to go in the vertical position as much as other wings, and therefore to touch the water. With the Plus V2 we have the simplicity to learn step by step without being overpowered or having a tip constantly touching the water.
Its tips were closed to reduce the wingspan. We also have less curve on the leading edge, to have a maximum surface on this given wingspan. They are also slightly advanced. So they are further from the water in all three axes. This is for sure an easier and less tricky wing for beginners.
And when it comes to handling, this is one of the liveliest wings. Its large dihedral, light weight and twisted tips make it so light in the hand that many Team riders make it their favorite for its versatility. It is therefore not limited to beginners, it is simply a non-specialized wing for a specific program.

Buying guide
For whom?
Board
You are looking for a board to start in wing or SUP foiling, the HIPE First is made for you.
- For wing foiling, the HIPE First is the super accessible board to get started. The large sizes are magic for your beginnings: zero stress.
- For SUP foiling, you must know how to row in a straight line with a classic SUP. The rest is just a matter of method and time in the water to progress. The absence of strap inserts facilitates the placement of the feet in SUP foiling.
Each size is easy, just choose the right size in line with your level, your physical condition and your use.
Wing
Designed for beginners but also for experts, the Plus wing is really perfect to discover this sport and progress quickly.
But it is also suitable for the more experienced because its power to weight ratio is the best in the range. This is an incredible asset in a lot of situations, in freeride, freestyle, and also in the waves. And with its well placed hollow, it is game on in freerace.
Foil
You can start smoothly with this foil. Everything is simpler and safer. And in case of breakage you have all the spare parts for a ridiculous price.
For what?
Board
The HIPE First is the perfect board to start and progress in wing and SUP foiling.
On land, it’s inflated and stored away in a few minutes and there is no risk of shocks. It’s great for traveling. And it is super light.
- In wing foiling. It’s very easy, you will progress very quickly.
- In SUP foiling, it’s great to start and progress when you’re already a good paddler.
Wing
Clearly its role is to facilitate your first year of wing foiling.
But it is also the most versatile wing offering a high level of performance in all registers:
- It takes off early.
- It holds far in the high end.
- It is super maneuverable, and so light.
- It sails upwind and flies downwind like a slalom sail!
Light, powerful, easy, it has all the qualities to bring you to a good level and even much further.
Foil
This is the foil for beginners, but also for progression. It’s not just a school foil that will peak at your fifth semester.
Flat on the water, you pick up a bit of speed, you sheet in twice on the wing and you can fly. The Rise Foil settles quietly at 10 knots, it goes through all the slack and you can head upwind easily. But if you sheet in, it will go through the 20 knots, still smoothly.
In surfing it’s very simple, soft and easy to handle. Really easy to hook, hard to stall, it is a model of tolerance based on proven profiles in the world of military aviation.
When pumping, you have lift. It’s not a fast foil, but our many videos testify to its qualities. You will pump in a slow rhythm, more on the legs than on the cardio. And above all without error, because the most energy consuming part in pumping are errors.
What size?
Board
The HIPE First is a board dedicated to learning. Several volumes are available to meet the needs of each practitioner according to their level, physical condition and use. In wing foiling :
Beginner
A beginner should choose a volume that’s sufficient to float comfortably, around your weight + 60 = volume.
- Example: I weigh 80kg + 60 = L to float. Which means that with 140L and more I would be at ease.
Comfort
You should choose a volume that’s sufficient to float, around your weight + 30 = volume.
- Example: I weigh 80kg + 30 = L to float. Which means that with 110L and more I would be at ease with previous experience on a wing foil board.
A small chart that sums it all up:
Wing
When you start, in 99% of the cases you start with a 5m2. Its ideal range is from 15 knots to 25 knots. Once in flight with a gust at 15 knots, you will easily hold the flight through 12 knots
The reality is that for a winger of 85kg, you need 20 knots with a 5m² to fly at the beginning. After about 15 sessions, you will fly at 15 knots with a 5m². And if you’re athletic, pumping hard can make you take off at 12 knots in 5m² and hold the flight through 8 knots. All this can be learned and requires practice.
Foil
In light wind, we tend to think that the bigger the more efficient. With some nuances, yes that is the rule.
Remember to play on the stabs to have more or less ease and speed as you progress.
Understanding the GONG range?
The concept of each board of the range can be summed up very simply:
- HIPE FIRST: the perfect inflatable board to learn wing foiling!
- HIPE FREE FLY: the best of strapless on an inflatable foil board.
- HIPE PERF: the inflatable foil board with 95% of the performance of a rigid board, in an easy and scalable shape.
- HIPE PRO: the inflatable board with 95% of the performance of a rigid one with a shape dedicated to advanced foilers who want fluidity and maximum responsiveness!
- MOB 2TASTE: three sports in one board: SUP, SUP foiling and wing foiling.
- ZUMA: the easy rigid board for SUP foiling and wing foiling, and with good performance.
- LANCE: the compact Zuma, with great lateral stability, ideal for beginnings in wing foiling.
- CRUZADER: fantastic in SUP downwinders, pumping on the flat, but also in light wind conditions in wing foiling.
- FLINT: high performance in SUP foiling, great in wing foiling because it is simple and efficient in light wind.
- KUBE: pure freestyle board. Minimum length for maximum rotation.
- MINT: compact without being too technical thanks to a perfect length and its round nose. Great performance in strapless too.
- LEMON: maximum reactivity and liveliness, while maintaining stability.
- LETHAL: Absolute radicality among volume boards.
Some will go for even more extreme with low volume boards like:
- LEMON FROM 4’3 TO 4’5: maximum responsiveness and liveliness.
- LETHAL FROM 4’3 TO 4’5: absolute radicalism.
- CATCH KITE FOIL: it works as well in kite foiling as with a wing when well powered.
- LETHAL SURF FOIL: asymmetrical straps and minimum width to dare everything.
Best Quiver choices?
Board
The HIPE First will be perfect for enjoying the wind with a wing or to SUP foil small waves.
You can of course complete it with a range of Stand Up Paddleboards without foil. And surfboards for days when the waves are unsuitable for foiling.
Wing
The Wing Plus matches perfectly with a HIPE, a Zuma, a Lance or a Flint and our Aluminum Allvator Foil. It’s the magic combo for beginners and mellow sessions.
You can (should) add to this combo a SUP for windless days, and surely a board dedicated to surfing. But if you’re heading towards the wing, you may already have these toys in the garage ?
Foil
The Rise wing foil is ideal for beginners. It will therefore marry wonderfully with a HIPE, a Lance or a Zuma.
Positioning of the foil ?
For GONG foils, place the plate in the center of the US rail box. The further you move it forward, the more it raises the board.
The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board pearls.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let the back foot work enough, especially when we come from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a little, forces more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces efforts.
Which Leash?
Board
Take a 6′ of 7mm minimum diameter.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. It’s your life jacket.
Wing
Take a 5′5 to 8′ Wing Leash in light wind and a 10′ Leash in strong wind. Preferably a model dedicated to the Wing and of telephone type. A short leash allows you to resume the Wing quickly.
A long leash protects the Wing from the foil falling into the canvas by letting it go further.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your lifejacket.
Don’t let your wing flap in the wind at the end of the Leash, it is not unbreakable! Also in waves, do not hold your wing by the Leash, it will explode or you will hurt yourself.
Good to Know:
Never leave your board in the sun, even less an inflatable board, and even less a black carbon plate that will heat up very quickly. You might see it peeling off!!!
Don’t screw further than the bottom of the box, otherwise you’ll get into the skin of the inflatable. We deliver US squares with no opening, but be careful.
Never let your foil board get mistreated in the waves, especially close to the shore. You must protect it from major forces. A wave that carries your board away and rolls it away can do a lot of damages.
Equipments
Everything is included in the pack :
- A stable and solid inflatable board that takes off super easily.
- A light, tolerant wing that accelerates with the slightest puff of air .
- A foil with a progressive and smooth take-off that offers a lot of stability.
- The accessories to prepare, transport and protect your equipment.
HIPE First
- Composite plate.
- 3D double diamond Deckpad.
- 2 non-opening SCS inserts paired with a carbon fiber rod.
- Screw kite for foil plate.

Wing
- The handles of the V2 are thin and rigid. The gain in comfort is sensational and is noticeable from the get go. The piloting is even more precise. The V2 is built with 3 handles on the central strut and one on the leading edge.
- The windows considerably reduce the risk of collision. For us this is fundamental. At the beginning you will surely be too busy trying to control everything and not using them, but very soon it will be the safety ally of your jibes. And our window PVC is super strong, no stress.
- The new inflation / deflation valves are used directly with the end of the hose. No more incompatible or lost nozzles !
- The large inflation/deflation valve on the leading edge is doubled on the central strut for immediate deflation and storage. Still in one pump mode, you inflate through the leading edge in seconds. Then open the two large valves to deflate everything instantly.
- 3 harness fixing points are placed on the central strut of the V2 wings (1 single point on the front and 2 positions to choose from on the rear). Everyone will find their balance for endless sessions with a performant and powerful wing.
- Repair kit.
Foil Allvator
- 1 ALLVATOR Original aluminium mast of 80cm.
- 1 ALLVATOR aluminium surf fuselage.

Warning
When you practice Foil you expose yoursef to possible serious Risks. A poor mastering of a Foil can expose you to Cuts and/or Serious Bodily Harm, even Death for youself and possibley others around you.
Foiling should be practiced, in all circumstances, by taking precautions and taking into cosideration all that is involved and associated with SURF/SUP sports. Remember that a Foil is long and has an edge that could cause slicing and is capable of reaching very high speeds. Getting hit by a Foil, or hitting another, can incrue dramatic and highly unwanted consequences.
Always Foil far from others, and in waters that are secure and without obstacle.
Always wear a helmet and protective vest that assures Floatability. Always wear a full body Neoprane Wetsuit.
When handling and manipulating a Foil be careful not to cut yourself along its edges.
GONG does Not Accept and Declines any and all responsability in case of accident that implicates a GONG Foil. The practicing of this sport and the use of our equipment makes the user fully resposable for his/her actions while being a Foil User.
Warning
You must read the detailed user manual completely before using your Wing for the first time.
Be sure to have a full understanding of it. Wings can be dangerous depending on their size and the strength of the wind. You have to check the wind range of your wing so that it corresponds with conditions and your actual skill level.
For the first few sessions, never use your new Wing in its high wind range. Use your Wing in a secure environment. Take the necessary time to learn how to handle the equipment under optimum safety conditions. Never underestimate the traction power of your Wing. Even a beginner’s Wing can develop a pulling force of several hundred kilos depending on its size and the strength of the wind. Do not overestimate your abilities. Misuse can cause serious injury or death to the practitioner or others. Do not use your Wing at sea in offshore winds. Use your Wing equipped with a leash. Be careful to avoid any collision. Be extremely careful if you sail with your Wing and a board equipped with a foil. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for damage or damage caused by improper use of the Wing or carelessness of the user.
Dry your wing ?
Unless you end your session with a long ride in the sun and land on a pontoon, it’s rather rare to get out of the water with a completely dry wing. ? Note that there is no need to dry your wing if it is to be used regularly in salt water, as the salt protects the materials from mold.
If, however, for transport or storage reasons you want to dry them, you must absolutely avoid hanging the deflated wing by the handle on the leading edge. It’s however very practical but it is the best way to obtain a hernia on the central strut at the junction with the leading edge following the collapse of the bladder inside. The bladders are movable in the strut and the leading edge. So if you hang it up deflated to dry, the bladder can slip, or even crumple, in the strut sleeve.
So ideally, you dry your inflated wing in the shade, and at worst flat or at least with just the inflated central strut.
Find all our How to : Dry your wing
How to inflate your wing?
Inflating your wing while it is still rolled can cause movements and twists of the bladder which will have the effect of deforming the inflated wing or causing hernias. It is therefore essential to fully unfold your wing before inflating it using the inflation valve on the leading edge.
