Front wing Pro Ypra

The Ypra front wing is the ultimate wing for racing.

The glide of this front wing is a game changer in the wing foiling world. You feel yourself gliding forward without any restraint at crazy speeds. It’s breathtaking. Its very thin thickness, its really thin leading edge, and its ultra high aspect give you all the cards to set the stopwatches buzzing.

Going fast is one thing, all you need is a tiny front wing and to hold on tight. But with the Ypra you go fast for a long time and on all points of sail. The wing is healthy and ultra stable at high speed. Doing speed runs for miles almost goes without breaking a sweat. You fly at 30 knots as you would fly a more classic wing at 22/25 knots.

The very large wingspan stabilizes the wing. So you can really go for it. The ultra-thin profile will immediately hook on at very high speeds, to the point that a ventilation becomes a non-event. It’s almost unnoticeable in your sailing.

You can go for crazy angles upwind: as if you were kite foiling with a foil kite. It’s unprecedented. And it goes so fast!!! We head upwind like we would never have imagined we could with a wing foil. This is totally new territory.

And then we bear off like crazy. The chop flies by, the foil doesn’t flinch, it’s a real high-speed train. Warning: It’s really scary.

For the first time in Wing foiling, the gear is not limiting in racing. We are really calm at high speed, and it’s only up to you to go for light speed!!!

Stab Pro Veloce H

The Stab Veloce H is our stab dedicated to speed and pure glide!

It’s the magic stab for foilers looking for as little resistance as possible. Its feeling is very subtle, offering less front foot than its competitors, for a very pure sensation of glide combining lightness and control.

When we talk about speed, we are obviously talking about top speed but also about average speed of movement through the water. The Veloce H will increase your speed in all aspects of your sessions: top speed, transitions, pumping, cruising, freefly, etc…

The very high aspect ratio of this stab makes flying at higher speeds easier. Ideal for wing foil racing as well as for full speed kiting; but also magical in downwinders or to surf in powerful waves.

Its very low drag boosts the downwind/freefly capabilities of your foil. Be it on fast swells or to increase the pace and connect bumps, the Veloce is shaped for endless glide. A must for downwinders!

Firstly, it’s a racing foil that performs with speed, but what you have to remember above all, is this feeling of unrestrained glide with very little front foot pressure. Because we will love it powered up with a Pulse DP as well as for pumping runs in dock start sessions.

This 2024 version comes with a new profile, 40% more generous for more lift while maintaining its exceptional glide thanks to its large aspect ratio!

With this gain in thickness, it is still the fastest stab in our range and develops absolute rigidity. In addition, the positioning of the fibers has been improved to make it even more rigid!

Fuselage Pro

The new Pro fuselage is cut short compared to the V2 Aluminum fuselage to radically reduce the weight of the foil. The shortened part at the rear of the fuselage is substituted by a longer stab in carbon fiber, so much lighter than metal.

This technical choice allows us to shape the back end of the fuselage much thinner to improve glide. The drag of the fuselage is thus divided by 3. The gain in speed is phenomenal. The foil is freer and more manageable at the same time.

The self-tightening conical fitting at the back end of the fuselage allows for an ultra-rigid assembly of the stab with just two screws. The V-shape of this fitting leaves more material on the lower side of the carbon fiber stab; which is the one undergoing the most efforts while flying. This excess material is strategic at this point to further increase longevity.

The front fitting is identical to our previous V1 and V2 to allow full compatibility with all your front wings of different generations.

Our philosophy is to fight against obsolescence, and therefore to maximize compatibility between all our spare parts from different collections.

    • to mount it with the new Pro stabs with the elongated tail which are designed to connect directly to this new fuselage, you benefit from a weight reduction of 40% compared to the V2 alu fuselage assembly.
    • or to mount it with the classic stabs of our range thanks to our carbon adapter placed at the rear of this fuselage, which will save you 20% in weight compared to the V2 alu fuselage, to connect the classic stabs from our range.

The position of the Fuselage Mast Connector is set back one centimeter in the fuselage to leave more material in front of the mast box and increase durability there too. For the same mast adjustment on the board, the position of the foil therefore advances by 1 cm. To keep in mind ?

The aluminium technology offers the best strength/lightness ratio, at a nice price.

The fuselage is milled with a 3 axial CNC from a 6061 aluminium block of the highest quality for clockwork precision. The aluminium is then heat treated in T6 to provide outstanding durability.

In combination with the new STAB PRO H, which will save you more than 40% weight compared to the V2 alu fuselage and 3 times less drag.

This fuselage allows your foil to be completely removable for transport, to adapt to all sports at a lower cost, and to give you the possibility of replacing a damaged part.

The fuselage is fully recyclable at the end of their life.

Shape

Front wing

The shape of the YPRA is dedicated to pure speed and incredibly fast upwinds. This new front wing is made to win official races or between friends.

High aspect

The very slender outline of this wing gives it a lot of finesse by reducing the chord and the thickness of the profile. Performance is greatly improved since much less drag is generated, without losing lift at a constant surface. We even gain a little since the profile will fly faster overall, speed being the source of lift.

Profile thickness

The profile is very thin, with an almost sharp attack and a supercritical profile. It’s technical to get to cruising speed and impossible to slow down!!! Supersonic.

The camber

The “omega” shaped camber gives the wing a lot of stability which reassures and allows you to press the accelerator pedal even more.

Max width

The placement of this lift point is constant throughout the range so as to always keep the same setting for the same behavior when changing wing size.

Stab

The high aspect ratio shape of the Veloce H stabs is dedicated to speed/glide in all disciplines: racing, surfing, downwinders and pumping. It glides without restraint and with great neutrality.

Outline

The very slender outline of this stab gives it a lot of finesse by greatly reducing the chord and the thickness of the profile. The type of profile

The new profile of the stab is more lifty at low speed but remains thin compared to the rest of the range. Its intrado is very slightly hollowed in the rear third to allow incredible glide and improves lift. It’s thin but offers quite some lift. The high aspect ratio smoothes the behavior of the stab with great profile tolerance at high speeds for more control on full speed runs.

The leading edge is more pinched than on other stabs in the range to achieve a higher top speed. The feeling of acceleration is crazy.

Dihedral

This stab has a light dihedral with an almost constant downward curve which returns close to the horizontal near the tips. The stability is clear and very easy to feel, especially when you want to recover from a stall. The tips are further from the surface, especially when sailing upwind, at high speed, and it carves, but with a moderate camber so as not to generate steering aberrations.

 

The fuselage

This stab is only compatible with our new Titanium or Aluminum Pro Fuselage. The tail of the stab in full carbon makes it possible to optimize the shape of this part of the foil to reduce its drag as well as its weight. The rear portion of the fuselage is included in this stab. It is ultra streamlined to reduce drag by 3. A real Pro fuselage which frees up all the front wings of the range to make them gain 3 to 5 knots in top speed under the feet of a pro.

This back fuselage is so efficient that it boosts handling by leaving less drag. Its very small section close to the stab makes it much easier to drift and close turns.

The fitting/profile connection fillets have been optimized for more glide. But they also prevent twisting for perfect rigidity.

The trapezoidal fitting system with the Pro fuselage ensures perfect firmness of the assembly without the need for counter-screws. The whole thing gives a very nice foil, light, rigid and devilishly efficient!

Innovation is at the core of our products

 

Our front wings are made of 90% 3K and 12K Prepreg carbon, with a total of over 15 fiber layers on the profile, and many more in the fitting areas.

The highest ratios in our range also contain high module carbon which provides the essential mechanical rigidity to the proper functioning of these thin and large foils.

High stress points such as fittings and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and fiberglass for tolerance. It is indeed essential to place fibers responding to the different types of stress in addition to the carbon which will produce dynamism.

Molded at high pressure and high temperature on a foam core, our wings are almost indestructible.

It is the perfect balance between low weight and “infinite” durability/repairability.

This technology has been tested and proven for more than three years without any breakage on 30,000 ALLVATOR foil wings. In the event of a violent impact on a rock, you can easily repair them and they will be as good as new.

You will never see a GONG front wing open on a leading edge because our unique layup technique crosses the layers of fibers. Thus there is no joint plan on our wings. The whole outline has overlapping lapses, like the rails of your high-end boards.

Wing tips are a potential source of danger. We take care not to produce an intrinsically dangerous design, within the limits of efficient hydrodynamics. Likewise, the trailing edges are designed not to be dangerously sharp. We invite you to be extremely careful despite these precautions because these parts remain sharp and dangerous by nature. Stay away, wear the proper protections, and never sharpen them. Systematically repair the slightest hitch in the outline because it represents a danger for you and others if it were to cut your leash for example. In all situations, the greatest caution is required. If in doubt, abstain (waves, strong wind, etc.).

This foil is completely dismountable to adapt to all sports at a lower cost and give you the possibility of replacing a damaged part. A complete catalog of spare parts is available, to allow you to make it compatible with multiple supports (Surf / SUP / Kite / Wing), and to explore the entire range of use of the foil in each sport and at all levels.

For whom?

Front wing

It is the front wing for foilers passionate about racing and speed.

Stab

It is a high aspect ratio stab for very good level riders who want to reach maximum speed and have an incredible glide when surfing, in downwinders and for pumping.

  • In surf foiling, you must have a very good level to tame this technical stab which offers little lift. Surprisingly simple at take off, it requires a good experience though to be managed in all the range of speeds due to the low lift of this high aspect ratio.
  • In SUP foiling / DW, it is the most neutral stab in the range. Very little front foot pressure and a crazy glide.
  • In wing foiling, you must have a good level to take off early with this technical stab and master the higher speed of the foil. In small sizes it is an extreme stab which offers a very high top speed of which only you set the limit 😉
  • In kite foiling, ditto, you must have a good level to accept and master the higher speed of the foil and the superior technicality of these high aspect stabs.

In summary, you need a good technical background to take advantage of these stabs. The small sizes are obviously more complicated to manage than the very large ones which will be almost “accessible”.

These stabs are clearly to go faster and be controlled at high speeds.

With a profile dedicated to higher speeds, it is the fastest high ratio in the range.

  • In surf foiling, it is clearly the ultimate stab to return to peak in lightning speed with a neutral stab that is completely forgotten.
  • In SUP foiling / DW, the lift is minimal and the glide is maximized.
  • In wing foiling, it is a stab to set record speeds, which offers a fast drive and which likes powerful curves. A pro will love it in surfing and DW.
  • In kite foiling, the turbo is assured.

Here is a view of the ideal body weight for each foil and each use:

The M is 91 cm wide, 800 cm2, 1.0 cm thick for a volume of 0.38L.

  • In wing foiling: less than 65kg or very good level and strong wind.
  • In kite foiling: less than 85kg.

The L is 101cm wide, 1000cm2, 1.1cm thick for a volume of 0.53L.

  • In wing foiling: less than 75kg or good level and steady wind.

The XL is 111cm wide, 1200cm2, 1.2cm thick for a volume of 0.7L.

  • In wing foiling: 75kg and more.

Stab

The small size has a wingspan of 36 cm, 140 cm2, 0.50 cm thick for a volume of 0.04 L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a very small stab for very good level foilers and light ones. Clearly dedicated to tow-in in very hollow waves.
  • In wing foiling, it’s very small but perfect for very good level riders who want to adopt extreme riding at high speed.
  • In kite foiling, it is an extreme stab for experienced riders who want a fast stab to match with a very small front wing.

The medium size has a wingspan of 40 cm, 175 cm2, 0.55 cm thick for a volume of 0.05L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a small stab that will suit very good level foilers of average size.
  • In wing foiling, it’s perfect for very good level riders who want to adopt extreme high-speed riding with a decent low range.
  • In kite foiling, it is a small stab for riders who want a fast stab.

The large size has a wingspan of 44 cm, 210 cm2, 0.61 cm thick for a volume of 0.07L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a stab that will suit good level foilers of light to medium size in small waves.
  • In wing foiling, it’s perfect for good level riders who want to adopt extreme high speed riding with a decent low range.
  • In kite foiling, it’s perfect, very close to the Fast 40 in lift but more stable and faster.

The extra large sizehas a wingspan of 47 cm, 240 cm2, 0.70 cm thick for a volume of 0.09L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a large thin stab that will suit good level foilers in small waves or in dock start/beach start.
  • In wing foiling, it’s big but perfect for good level riders who want to adopt extreme high-speed riding in the light, or for strong riders who fly.

The Ypra plane is ideal with technical boards with noble constructions such as the FSP PRO boards.

The mast must be rigid. And all the more so if your stance isn’t perfect.

Positioning of the foil ?

For the GONG foils, place the top plate at the rear third of the US rails for surf, SUP and kite. Place it in the middle of the US rails when using it with a wing foil.

The more you move it forward, the more it makes the board pitch up. The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board dives.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend to forget to use the back foot, especially when we have a kite foil background. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.

The dates of availability of all our products are written on each product page, in the size and colour of the product concerned.

These dates are valid at the moment you consult the site and/or place an order. It is possible that this product may be ordered a few seconds after your consultation. It then becomes unavailable. If you have placed an order, this change does not concern you: the product you order is still available on the date indicated at the time of your order.

We sell several thousand products per week. The stocks are therefore very evolutionary. But our management always shows you the real availability live.

Pre-order:

Some articles are proposed in pre-order during their routing to our premises. You can buy this article which will arrive at our place in a few weeks. This method avoids the fair to grab upon receipt of the lot and the disappointed ones who would not order within the hour.

Upon receipt, we will ship it to you as a regular order.

The times indicated on the pre-orders are 95% reliable. First of all, because we only pre-sell finished products that are arriving to us after Customs, and therefore shipped right after. And also, because we add decent margins with concern to the dates announced by the shipping companies or railways.

However, a Worker Strike, a breakdown, an overbooking, can unfortunately happen. In the case of a delay, you will be notified by email (check your spam). It is generally less than a week and totally independent of our good will.

As soon as we receive the container in La Baule, we ship your order within three working days. Then the carrier takes over: delivery time and tracking numbers are under their responsibility.

It is possible that the date displayed on the online for the pre-order of the item you have ordered and paid for may change for two reasons:

  1. All quantities of the batch are sold (most common reason). In this case, orders placed for the first container will be delivered as scheduled.
  2. The container is late and we have to shift the date by a few days. (Strikes, breakdowns, overbooking, can unfortunately happen). You will be notified by email.

We never change the delivery dates of a container without notifying customers.

 

Delays:

The dates that we announce are shipping deadlines, which GONG has in stock and available here physically.

We usually give a shipping time within 3 days, but in most cases, we ship within 24/48 hours. Normally morning orders leave in the afternoon for example.

Then the transport service takes over. The variables are then important between the customer being delivered to France (very fast) or Bulgaria (a good week) or to a forwarding agent or to Asia or the USA… You understand that each location has its own type of delay.

We work with serious and well-known carriers. They do their utmost to make you happy even if a snafu can happen. In any case, we are there to make things easier and to arrange our customers.

 

Shipping Fees: 

Contrary to others, we do not hide shipping costs in the price of our products. At GONG everyone knows exactly what he pays. The transport is charged at its strictest value, and the person who comes to pick up his products does not pay hidden transport fees.

Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address. To this is added a labour time of order preparation.

The invoicing of the shipping costs is identical in continental France and in the bordering European countries. A surcharge is automatically invoiced for deliveries to the most distant European countries and all European islands.

For a shipment in French overseas departments and territories or outside Europe, our logistics department will contact you before the payment stage to give you an estimate of the shipping costs. You will be able to accept this estimate and pay your order, or refuse it and cancel your order.

Delivery:

We collaborate with the best transport providers to deliver you everywhere in Europe and in the world in very short delays.

We have chosen them for their quality of service and their respect of deadlines. 80% of your orders reach their destination in less than 48 hours of processing in metropolitan and continental France.

For Europe, the delays vary from 3 to 6 days depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delays can be up to 15 days.

Please note that the transport time is added to the preparation/shipping time. Two companies work on your order (GONG and the carrier). Warning

The practice of the sport foil may expose you to serious injury. A poor mastering of foil may lead to cut, serious injury and/or including death for you and/or others.

Foil should be practiced by taking into consideration all kite user precautions that are associated with  the sport Foil. Remember that a foil is long, cutting, and reaches high speeds. Getting hit by a foil, or hitting someone/thing can have dramatic consequences.

Always foil far from others, in a secure and safe waterscape without obstacles.

Foil is most often practiced in light winds which may cease to blow leading you to return to shore by swimming. As a consequence do not overestimate your your strength/capacity : never go further out than your skill and swimming capacities and wind conditions allow.

Always wear a helmet and life vest for floatation. Always wear a full body wetsuit.

When handling the Foil, be careful not to cut yourself along the edges.
