Our easy high ratio stabs delivering high performance

Introduction

The Fluid H Stab is made for more speed and as much lift.

The high ratio version of the Fluid Stabs allows access to higher speed ranges without compromising what makes the magic of Fluid Stabs: perfect glide and radical curves.

The shape of its intrado is very concave to maintain a strong lift which helps on takeoff and in all low speed situations. The feeling is stable and firm despite the high ratio.

The outline is thinner at the tips to allow a perfect rail to rail. Hardcore turns or big curves, this stab is perfect in maneuverability. To try it is to marry it 😉

Once your foil is launched, this stab provides a sensational glide that allows you to hover endlessly. A pro is 3 to 5 knots faster in wing or kite foiling than with the classic version of the stab on the Alu V2 Fuselage.

This stab includes the rear part of the fuselage which is ultra streamlined to reduce drag by 3. This fuselage design frees up all the front wings of the range.

This slender back end of the fuselage is so efficient that it boosts handling by generating less drag. Its very small section next to the stab makes it much easier to drift and cut turns short.

The fillets connecting the fitting to the profile have been optimized for more glide. But they also prevent twisting for perfect rigidity.

Compatible only with the New Pro Fuselage to minimize weight and drag using a perfectly adjusted self-tightening trapezoidal fitting, and interchangeable without difficulty.

Associated with the Fluid-H front wing, the foil flies in tempo with more consistent swells and allows infinite downwinds while gliding. It is also the easiest high ratio stab to pair with all our front wings. The balance is found quite naturally and the gain in speed and maneuverability is stunning.

Fluid H Stabs in sizes 38cm, 42cm, 45cm, 47cm, 49cm and 52cm offer a very high level of performance. This glide specific to high ratio wings will delight all lovers of speed and endless surfing.

Choosing the right size

The Fluid H Pro Stabs are quite accessible despite their high ratio. Choose the size you usually like from GONG.

Always adjust the size of the stab to the size of the front wing for a balanced flight.

The 38cm wingspan is 180 cm2, 0.5 cm thick for a volume of 0.04L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a small stab for very good foilers and light ones.
  • In wing foiling, it’s small but perfect for very good level riders who want to adopt extreme riding at high speed.
  • In kite foiling, it is a key stab for experienced riders who want a fast stab.

The 42cm wingspan is 220 cm2, 0.5 cm thick for a volume of 0.06L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a stab that will suit good level foilers of average size.
  • In wing foiling, it’s perfect for very good level riders who want to adopt extreme high-speed riding with a decent low range.
  • In kite foiling, it is a great stab for strong riders who want a fast and maneuverable stab.

The 45cm wingspan is 260 cm2, 0.6 cm thick for a volume of 0.07L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a large stab that will suit good level foilers of average size in small waves.
  • In wing foiling, it is perfect for good level riders who want to adopt an extreme high speed ride with a good low range.
  • In kite foil, it’s big.

The 47cm wingspan is 290 cm², 0.6 cm thick for a volume of 0.09L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a large stab which will suit big foilers of a good level in small waves.
  • In wing foiling, it’s perfect for big riders of a good level who want a high-speed drive with a very good low range.
  • In kite foil, it’s really too big.

The 49 cm wingspan is 310 cm2, 0,7cm thickness with a volume of 0,11L. It has more angle than its little brothers and less aspect ratio for more lift.

  • In surf foiling, it is a large stab that adapts perfectly to large/giant front wings, great for big riders or someone of an average size who wants more lift when pumping.
  • In wing foiling, it’s perfect for bigger riders of a good level who want a stab that lifts in light wind conditions, while accepting high speeds.
  • In kite foiling, it’s always too big.

The 52 cm wingspan is 360 cm2, 0,8cm thickness with a volume of 0,14L.

  • In surf foiling: it’s very big, for big riders only with a big/giant front wing, great for pumping with low cadence.
  • In wing foiling: easy for the bigger riders and/or perfect in very light conditions with a very bif  front wing.

Construction

Our Stabs Fluid H are made of 90% 3K and 12K Prepreg carbon, with a total of over 25 fiber layers on the profile, and many more in the fitting areas.

The highest ratios in our range also contain high module carbon which provides the essential mechanical rigidity to the proper functioning of these thin and large foils.

High stress points such as fittings and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and fiberglass for tolerance. It is indeed essential to place fibers responding to the different types of stress in addition to the carbon which will produce dynamism.

Molded at high pressure and high temperature on a foam core, our wings are almost indestructible.

It is the perfect balance between low weight and “infinite” durability/repairability.

Wing tips are a potential source of danger. We take care not to produce an intrinsically dangerous design, within the limits of efficient hydrodynamics. Likewise, the trailing edges are designed not to be dangerously sharp. We invite you to be extremely careful despite these precautions because these parts remain sharp and dangerous by nature. Stay away, wear the proper protections, and never sharpen them. Systematically repair the slightest hitch in the outline because it represents a danger for you and others if it were to cut your leash for example. In all situations, the greatest caution is required. If in doubt, abstain (waves, strong wind, etc.).

Your benefits are clear:

  • An efficient shape created by one of the leaders in the world of foiling.
  • A design at the cutting edge of R&D and ahead of its time.
  • Proven construction on thousands of foils.
  • Full Option finishing at a great price.
  • A light and solid foil with one of the best technos on the market!!!
  • An incredible price that can only be explained by our direct relationship with you.
  • Simple maintenance and easy repairs.

Shape
High ratio

The very slender outline of this stab gives it a lot of finesse by greatly reducing the chord and the thickness of the profile. Performance is significantly improved since much less drag is generated, without losing lift at a constant surface. We even gain a little since the profile will fly faster overall, speed being the source of lift.

Outline

Its very oval shape reduces the surface of the tips to promote rail to rail and therefore boost maneuverability.

Profile thickness

The profile is thin over its entire wingspan. With a strong concave in the intrado, it lifts really well in view of its extreme finesse. The tips are super thin.

Type of profile

The Fluid H have a hollow intrado to boost their lift. This intrado with an important hollow in the rear third gives a significant lift at all speeds. We take off early because it lifts more and it does not tend to dive.

The leading edge is “sharper” than on the other stabs in the range to access a higher top speed. The feeling of acceleration is crazy.

Camber

This stab has a slight negative camber with an almost constant downward curve that lowers the tips for less ventilation. Hooking is clear and very easy to feel, especially when you want to recover from a stall. The profile is further from the surface, especially in curves but with a moderate camber so as not to generate steering aberrations.

Max width

The placement of this lift point is constant throughout the range so as to always keep the same setting for the same behavior when changing wing size.

Fuselage

This stab is only compatible with our new Titanium or Aluminum Pro Fuselage. The tail of the stab in full carbon makes it possible to optimize the shape of this part of the foil to reduce its drag as well as its weight. The rear portion of the fuselage is included in this stab. It is ultra streamlined to reduce drag by 3. A real Pro fuselage which frees up all the front wings of the range to make them gain 3 to 5 knots in top speed under the feet of a pro.

This back end of the fuselage is so efficient that it boosts handling by generating less drag. Its very small section next to the stab makes it much easier to drift and cut turns short.

The fitting/profile connection fillets have been optimized for more glide. But they also ensure the blocking of twisting for perfect rigidity.

The trapezoidal interlocking system with the Pro fuselage ensures perfect firmness of the assembly without the need for counter-screws. The whole thing gives a very nice foil, lightrigid and devilishly efficient!

Carbon HM Stab Technology

High Module Carbon offers unparalleled rigidity, representing the pinnacle of performance in our most advanced wings and masts, which face the most demanding structural constraints.

By combining High Module with Intermediate Module, we offer the best performance at the best price.

The products have no flex, the fibers are oriented along multiple axes to lock in bending and torsion, ensuring maximum responsiveness.

Thanks to pre-impregnated fibers, we can guarantee optimal resin usage, providing perfect cohesion at the lightest possible weight.

Each layer of carbon is carefully hand-assembled around a high-density hydrophobic foam core, in a steel mold. A central stiffener is integrated to increase rigidity without compromising on lightness.

The mold is then subjected to high pressure and heated to 150°C to solidify the carbon. The foam core, seeking to expand under the heat, ensures even compression between the carbon layers, ensuring a strong and durable structure.

Durability and repairability are at the heart of our development philosophy. Our foils are tested and proven by dozens of team riders, hundreds of employees, and thousands of customers worldwide. Even in case of damage, our products can be repaired multiple times, ensuring exceptional longevity.

Buying guide

For whom ?

It is a high ratio stab for very good level riders who want to reach maximum speed and have an incredible glide in surfing, while remaining on a stab with lift and ease of use.

  • In surf foiling, you must have a good level to get the best out of this stab, but it is easy. Surprisingly easy to take off, but requires a good technical background to ride it through the entire speed range with its fast high ratio. The lift is present and the maneuverability is great.
  • In wing foiling, we take off early with this fairly simple stab. It propels you to the higher speed of the foil in an instant, which you have to be up to. And in freestyle as in surfing, it is unbeatable. Just magic.
  • In kite foiling, it is a simple and ultra-efficient stab, especially in surfing or tricks.

In summary, you need a good technical background to take full advantage of this stab but it is within the reach of all experienced practitioners. This is especially true in larger sizes.

What for?

These stabs are designed to help you gain in all performance registers: maneuverability and speed.

With a hyper hydrodynamic profile dedicated to higher speeds, it is the most manageable and buoyant high ratio of the range.

  • In surf foiling, it is clearly the ultimate stab to combine maneuvers and speed. We feel liberated from everything.
  • In wing foiling, it’s a stab to set new limits, to put the most beautiful turns of your life, and to send tricks non stop.
  • In kite foiling, it is the handy and fast stab par excellence.

Which quiver?

The Fluid H Stab is ideal with technical boards with noble constructions such as the FSP PRO boards.

Positioning of the foil?

For beginners on GONG foils, place the plate in the rear third for surfing, SUP and kite, and in the middle of the US rails for wing foiling.

The further you move it, the more it pitches the board up. The more you move it back, the more the nose of the board dives.

With these high ratio stabs, we will probably have to move it forward as they carry very little. Do not put it too much forward eather, it would generate a weird feel and would in fact be a sign that your stab is too small. This could induce whistling of the foil despite a perfect trailing edge.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend to forget to use the back foot, especially when we have a kite foil background. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.
