Description

Program

The radical, fast and maneuverable wings.

Introduction

The Fluid is halfway between a very fast Veloce and a Curve dedicated to curves.

If you’re keen on curves but want to take it up a notch, the Fluid is just what you need.

With its lightning top speed, each action is boosted. The driving is as radical as you want and you alone set the limit. You can tighten the curves or go full throttle. And the more it accelerates the more it lifts and asks for more.

With its fine points and curved leading edge, we have a hyper intuitive and progressive rail to rail under our feet. This wing is really “curve” oriented.

The Fluid really is the limitless front wing in surfing and tricks.

To fully understand the range : Fluids have a high and fast ratio as standard. Unlike the other ranges, we have declined the intermediate sizes called S for Small by reducing the ratio. Indeed, speed is omnipresent on the Fluid, but some will want even more maneuverability by turning to the S which will be more compact.

Understand each wing in detail

The S has a 61 cm wingspan, 650 cm2, 1,0 cm thick for a volume of 0,3L.

  • In surf foil, it’s getting very small. Perfect for tow-in.
  • In wing it’s tiny. Pro riders only when the wind is nuking or for racing.
  • In kite foil, it’s a radical wing for the best top speed and handling.

The MS has a 66 cm wingspan, 800 cm2, 1,2 cm thick for a volume of 0,5L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a tiny wing for the pros, the lightweight and tow-in. The best in terms of speed / handling combo because it remains easy.
  • In wing it’s tiny but perfect for a very good and lightweight rider who wants to carve at high speed and jump high in the strong wind.
  • In kite foil, it is a key wing for a lot of riders who want a fast and very responsive wing.

The M is 71 cm wide, 900 cm², 1.5 cm thick for a volume of 0.7L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a very small front wing for pros, lightweight and tow in. It is super manoeuvrable but very healthy.
  • In wing it is very small but perfect for a very good level lightweight who wants to carve at high speed and jump high.
  • In kite Foil this is a key wing for a lot of riders who want the mix of good top speed and handling.

The L-S is 76 cm wide, 1100 cm², 1.8 cm thick for a volume of 1.0L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a small wing for the good and the light. It’s super fast like the L but with more maneuverability (less wingspan and ratio).
  • In wing it’s small but perfect for a good level lightweight who wants to carve at high speed and jump high, without completely sacrificing low range.
  • In kite foil this is a key wing for a lot of riders who want the mix of good top speed and handling.

The L has a wingspan of 81cm, 1200cm², 1.8cm thick for a volume of 1.1L.

  • In surf foil, it is suitable for lightweight riders who want a large, fast and manoeuvrable wing, or for strong people who want a small, fast and ultra manoeuvrable wing. The pumping / handling compromise is ideal for fit foilers.
  • In wing it is perfect for a good level rider who wants to carve, go fast, jump, do good DWs, with a decent low range.
  • In kite foil, it’s really big. It is ideal in turns and moves without traction, in surfing for example.

The XL-S is 86cm wingspan, 1400cm², 2.0cm thick for a volume of 1.5L.

  • In surf foil, it is an intermediate + front wing that is suitable for riders less than 80kg who want an easy perf wing after their beginner wing, or for strong ones who want a fast and ultra maneuverable wing. The pomping / handling compromise is great for energetic riders.
  • In wing it is perfect for a good level rider who wants to carve, go fast, jump, do very good DWs, with a very decent low range. Best seller!
  • In kite foil, it’s a very / too big front wing.

The XL is 91 cm wingspan, 1500 cm², 2.0 cm thick for a volume of 1.54L.

  • In surf foil, this is a large wing which is suitable for lightweight people who want a very fast perf wing to connect a lot of waves on short days, or for big guys who want a fast and very maneuverable wing. The pumping / handling compromise is great for strong and energetic foilers.
  • In wing it is perfect for a resourceful rider who wants to fly early, go fast, surf aggressively, carve cool but efficient, work his transitions, put on tricks in glide, do excellent DWs, with a great low range.
  • In kite foil: forget it, it’s too big.

The XXL-S is 96 cm wide, 1750 cm², 2.2 cm thick for a volume of 2.0L.

  • In surf foil, this is a very large wing which is suitable for lightweight dock / beach starters, but especially strong ones who want a load-bearing wing that is very easy to pump and which remains maneuverable. The pumping / handling compromise is ideal for strong foilers. You can do 100kg and go over great distances in pumping, do 5 waves without throwing up. It’s great in soft waves.
  • In wing this size starts to be very large. It’s perfect for flying very, very early, going faster than a beginner wing, surfing very soft waves, working your transitions, doing DWs, with an unbeatable low range.
  • In kite foil: forget it, it’s too big.

The XXL is 101 cm wingspan, 1850 cm², 2.2 cm thick for a volume of 2.1L.

  • In surf foil, it’s a very tall, slender kite that is suitable for big guys. You can go over great distances in pumping. It’s a super efficient wing in surfing due to its great finesse, and it is a hit in very soft waves.
  • In wing this size is very large. Great in light wind.
  • In kite foil: same, it’s too big.

Understand their shapes

The best mix of speed and maneuverability for a smooth and radical ride.

A round general outline, fine tips, and a concentrated volume make this wing a machine for curves. With its high ratio and moderate thickness, the Fluid scores big in top speed. To top it off, its close to zero camber gives it that sharpness we love when riding.

The magical distribution of the surface on this very smooth outline maximizes passage from one rail to another. And the small tip surface gives a lot of control at high speed. We’re in control, so we’re going big!

Our shaper, Patrice Guénolé, exacerbated the characters in each size to get the most out of each range of use. Small wings are therefore suitable for high speeds and large ones at lower speeds. The criterion of choice is therefore not only the size of the foiler.

Safety issue, the ends have an almost flat and thick face to limit the risk of injury. Ideal for performance would be a sharp shape. We refuse to do this. The peak vortex is therefore slightly higher but it is better to have a wing that flies at 25 knots instead of 27 knots but which does not pierce your stomach if you fall on it. The shape of the tips of the Fluid is not sharp but it’s thinner than on the other wings in the surf range. We draw your attention to this point because without being sharp, they represent a real danger for you and others in the event of a collision. You must do everything possible to avoid having an accident, of which you are responsible and probably the victim.

Construction

Our wings are made of 90% Prepreg 3K carbon, with over 15 layers of fiber in total. High stress points like joints and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and with glass for tolerance. High pressure and high temperature molded on a foam core, our wings are virtually indestructible. Both rigid and floating, they‘re the perfect balance between low weight and infinite durability.

All of our wings and stabs have soft “tips”. Their ends are rounded and voluminous to limit the danger. We invite you to exercise the utmost caution nonetheless. Likewise, the trailing edges are blunt so as not to be sharp.

Note: These front wings are compatible with our V1, V2, PRO and Titanium fuselages.

Your benefits are clear:

1. An efficient shape created by one of the leaders in the world of foiling.
2. A design at the cutting edge of R&D and ahead of its time.

Innovation is at the core of our products

Our wings are made of 90% Prepreg 3K carbon, with more than 15 layers of carbon fiber in total. High tension points such as the joints and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and glass for tolerance. Moulded at high pressure and high temperature on a foam core, our wings are practically indestructible. Both rigid and floating, they are the perfect balance between contained weight and infinite durability.

This technology has been tested and proven for over three years without any breakage on 30,000 ALLVATOR foil wings. In the event of a violent impact on a rock, you can easily repair them and they will be as good as new.

You will never see a GONG wing open on a leading edge because our unique draping technique crosses the layers of fibres. So there is no parting line on our wings. The entire outline has overlapping gaps, just like the rails on your top of the range boards.

This foil is completely dismountable to adapt to all sports at a lower cost and give you the possibility of replacing a damaged part. A complete catalog of spare parts is available, to allow you to make it compatible with multiple supports (Surf / SUP / Kite / Wing), and to explore the entire range of use of the foil in each sport and at all levels.

Please note that GONG is at the forefront of foil development. We have been at the origin of the creation of the biggest foil factory that produces the major brands today. 18 months of intense work and dozens of tools developed. So don’t imagine that our foils are made in a gloomy garage. We develop all our products according to the rules of the art, with many internal engineers, with state-of-the-art 3D software, countless tests, with a Team at the highest level. That’s one of the reasons why we can offer low prices and refined products: we know what we’re doing from A to Z. We do not sell freelance designed foils. Our teams are at work year round and dedicated to the development of our products.

Buying guide

For whom?

It takes a good level to appreciate it. It’s not a difficult wing, quite the contrary. But it’s a wing that requires commitment to get to its highest level of performance. A technical background is required.

  • In surf foil, you must have an intermediate level because this foil is not as tolerant at low speed as beginner foils like the Rise or the X-over are. With this minimum level and more, you will have a blast.
  • In wing, the Fluid is close to the Grail. If you have the level to fly with thin wings, therefore a very efficient pumping, it will propel you into another dimension.
  • In kite foil, the Fluid can be your beginner’s wing, provided you have good knowledge of gliding. It is nevertheless recommended to the experienced to get the most out of it.

For what?

Radical and limitless drive, on the border between surfing and freestyle.

Its top speed allows it to excel in race with an exceptional performance in low range in particular.

  • In surf foil, it’s really great with a natural glide that generates lift and record handling. You can alternate between super tight curves and incredible acceleration.
  • In wing, it is the most radical wing in surf and freestyle riding. It goes fast and is great for tricks. In surfing it feels like velvet as the name suggests.
  • In kite foil, the Fluid goes fast and connects the curves. The more you ask for it, the more it speeds up and into the curves. Best of all, it’s a gem in tricks. It’s all up to you.

What size ?

The S has a 61 cm wingspan, 650 cm2, 1,0 cm thick for a volume of 0,3L.

  • In surf foil, it’s getting very small. Perfect for tow-in.

The M is 71 cm wide, 900 cm², 1.5 cm thick for a volume of 0.73L.

  • In surf foil: less than 65kg in mellow waves and less than 75kg in waves with size.
  • In wing: less than 65kg or very good level and strong wind.
  • In kite foil: less than 85kg or good level.

The L-S is 76 cm wide, 1100 cm², 1.8 cm thick for a volume of 1.04L.

  • In surf foil: less than 70kg in normal waves and less than 95kg in waves with size.
  • In wing: less than 70kg or very good level and steady wind.
  • In kite foil: less than 95kg.

The L is 81 cm wide, 1200 cm², 1.8 cm thick for a volume of 1.09L.

  • In surf foil: less than 75kg in normal waves and more than 85kg in waves with size.
  • In wing: less than 75kg or good level and steady wind.
  • In kite foil: forget, it’s starting to get really big.

The XL-S is 86cm wingspan, 1400cm², 2.0cm thick for a volume of 1.45L.

  1. In surf foil: less than 85kg in normal waves and more than 90kg in waves with size.
  2. In wing: less than 90kg or good level and steady wind. The key size !!!
  3. In kite foil: forget.

The XL is 91 cm wingspan, 1500 cm², 2.0 cm thick for a volume of 1.54L.

  • In surf foil: from 80 to 95kg in normal waves.
  • In wing: 75kg and more, it is the benchmark wing for people in the progression phase.
  • In kite foil: forget.

The XXL-S is 96 cm wide, 1750 cm², 2.2 cm thick for a volume of 2.0L.

  • In surf foil: more than 90kg in normal waves or for light ones in soft waves.
  • In wing: great in light and / or irregular winds.
  • In kite foil: forget.

The XXL is 101 cm wingspan, 1850 cm², 2.2 cm thick for a volume of 2.1L.

  • In surf foil: pumping and soft waves for all sizes.
  • In wing: it’s big but nice under 12 knots.
  • In kite foil: forget.

You will use a larger foil in low ranges, soft conditions. And conversely a smaller foil in those recommended for muscular conditions. The important thing to remember is that the choice of your wing depends on your size which requires lift and your average speed which generates lift.

When pumping from dock start or beach start, we recommend the wings as follows:

  • The M, the L-S, the L: forget them for dock starts, it’s pointless.
  • The XL-S: less than 55kg.
  • The XL: less than 75kg.
  • The XXL-S: less than 95kg.
  • The XXL: above 95kg.

In DW, we tend to think that the bigger front wing is the more efficient. With some moderation though, but yes that is often the rule.

Quiver partners ?

The Fluid foil is ideal with all the perf boards.

Positioning of the foil ?

For the GONG foils, place the top plate at the rear third of the US rails for surf, SUP and kite. Place it in the middle of the US rails when using it with a wing foil.

The more you move it forward, the more it makes the board pitch up. The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board dives.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend to forget to use the back foot, especially when we have a kite foil background. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.

Shipping

Availability:

The dates of availability of all our products are written on each product page, in the size and colour of the product concerned.

These dates are valid at the moment you consult the site and/or place an order. It is possible that this product may be ordered a few seconds after your consultation. It then becomes unavailable. If you have placed an order, this change does not concern you: the product you order is still available on the date indicated at the time of your order.

We sell several thousand products per week. The stocks are therefore very evolutionary. But our management always shows you the real availability live.

If it’s available online: it’s available ?

Pre-order:

Some articles are proposed in pre-order during their routing to our premises. You can buy this article which will arrive at our place in a few weeks. This method avoids the fair to grab upon receipt of the lot and the disappointed ones who would not order within the hour.

Upon receipt, we will ship it to you as a regular order.

The times indicated on the pre-orders are 95% reliable. First of all, because we only pre-sell finished products that are arriving to us after Customs, and therefore shipped right after. And also, because we add decent margins with concern to the dates announced by the shipping companies or railways.

However, a Worker Strike, a breakdown, an overbooking, can unfortunately happen. In the case of a delay, you will be notified by email (check your spam). It is generally less than a week and totally independent of our good will.

As soon as we receive the container in La Baule, we ship your order within three working days. Then the carrier takes over: delivery time and tracking numbers are under their responsibility.

It is possible that the date displayed on the online for the pre-order of the item you have ordered and paid for may change for two reasons:

  1. All quantities of the batch are sold (most common reason). In this case, orders placed for the first container will be delivered as scheduled.
  2. The container is late and we have to shift the date by a few days. (Strikes, breakdowns, overbooking, can unfortunately happen). You will be notified by email.

We never change the delivery dates of a container without notifying customers.

Delays:

The dates that we announce are shipping deadlines, which GONG has in stock and available here physically.

We usually give a shipping time within 3 days, but in most cases, we ship within 24/48 hours. Normally morning orders leave in the afternoon for example.

Then the transport service takes over. The variables are then important between the customer being delivered to France (very fast) or Bulgaria (a good week) or to a forwarding agent or to Asia or the USA… You understand that each location has its own type of delay.

We work with serious and well-known carriers. They do their utmost to make you happy even if a snafu can happen. In any case, we are there to make things easier and to arrange our customers.

Shipping Fees:

Contrary to others, we do not hide shipping costs in the price of our products. At GONG everyone knows exactly what he pays. The transport is charged at its strictest value, and the person who comes to pick up his products does not pay hidden transport fees.

Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address. To this is added a labour time of order preparation.

The invoicing of the shipping costs is identical in continental France and in the bordering European countries. A surcharge is automatically invoiced for deliveries to the most distant European countries and all European islands.

For a shipment in French overseas departments and territories or outside Europe, our logistics department will contact you before the payment stage to give you an estimate of the shipping costs. You will be able to accept this estimate and pay your order, or refuse it and cancel your order.

Any questions:

We answer you within 24 hours by email. But 95% of your questions are answered on the site. Try to use our contact form which will guide you to all these answers.

Don’t forget to read the Forum, where thousands of users exchange information and experiences.

In any case, don’t panic. If you don’t get an answer during the weekend, it’s normal: the team is resting ?

We are passionate and professional in our job. Our only goal is to make you happy, as much as possible ?

Eco-responsible packaging:

Preserving the environment is a top priority. That’s why we are doing everything possible to reduce our environmental footprint.

The first thing is to sell quality products that will last, be repairable and will please you for a long time.

The second thing is to sell for less. Most of the pollution coming from a Board is in its use (the km driven to use it) and in the countless environmental damages you have to do to pay for it. Each euro spent is a sum of damage related to your life quite simply: eating, working hard etc… By reducing the price of our products, we significantly reduce your ecological footprint on this item.

For our shipments we use:

  • Flexi-Hex: ecological packaging of very high resistance.
  • Paper Craft Scotch Tape.
  • Final packaging made of high-end cardboard.

All this for:

  • Reusable and recyclable packaging.
  • An almost total reduction of single-use plastic.
  • Maximum protection and impact resistance thanks to the innovative design of Flexi-Hex honeycomb (35mm thick).

Tracking of your parcels :

The tracking of deliveries is directly ensured by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your parcels. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose the delivery methods and to follow the route of your package.

If you ask us for this tracking, we will have to do as you do: we will go see on the carrier’s app because they are the ones who manage and are responsible for this job.

Delivery:

We collaborate with the best transport providers to deliver you everywhere in Europe and in the world in very short delays.

We have chosen them for their quality of service and their respect of deadlines. 80% of your orders reach their destination in less than 48 hours of processing in metropolitan and continental France.

For Europe, the delays vary from 3 to 6 days depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delays can be up to 15 days.

Please note that the transport time is added to the preparation/shipping time. Two companies work on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one controls its activity and commits itself to optimize its delays so that you are delivered as soon as possible, in good condition and at a reasonable price.

Reception of your front wing:

Upon delivery, simply open and inspect the condition of your Board in the presence of the carrier. A complete email explaining the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.

In spite of our requirements and all the care we take in packaging and protecting your Board, transportation hazards may occur. Even if it concerns less than 2% of everything we ship around the world, a Board can suffer a more or less important transportation shock.

But in any case, don’t worry, just refuse it, and a new Board will be shipped back to you.

Returns:

You can choose to return your products if:

  • You are not satisfied (14 days right of retraction).
  • You want to change an item.
  • You have refused your package.

For each situation, contact us by our contact form to help you.

  2. peter_kriebel (verified owner)

If you are coming from the Allvator X-over, you know how to foil in a stable way and are starting to practice the jibe, don’t be shy, switch to the fluid and you will make a huge step forward! You get out of the water more easily, the glide is way better and at the same time the foil is still easy to manage.

  3. Albin (verified owner)

    Hello, petit retour Hipe V3 5’3, fluid XLS +stab Curve 43, mat carbon V2 85, rider 85kg

Sortie aujourd hui 4m neutra, mat carbone V1 1m, stab fast 40 fluid L 85 kgs.

I have Fluid M and S for kitefoiling
Excelent foil in M size for light wind and the S is a monster in strong wind.
Fluid S is aweome for jumping and go fast with a strapped board or surfing on strapless board

Personne à l’eau, je me lance!
