HOW TO : RE-ENTRY !!!

Re-Entry is an essential move.

It is a question of projecting yourself up onto a section of foam that’s arriving towards you and coming down cleanly either to finish a wave that’s closing out or to link a bottom turn and pass this section of foam.

The ideal is to arrive with speed.

If the wave is soft, the foam will be even softer. So take the lead by choosing an appropriate trajectory. On a wave that has push you can go up and project the board because the impact will send you back down. On a soft wave, it is better to simply try to get on the foam and get off without a fuss.

The keys to the Re-Entry are :
– to arrive with speed, a maximum in any case.
– attack it with knees bent to keep you margin in case of destabilisation.
– pull hard with the Paddle when you reach the foam to project the move.
– adapt the trajectory to the power of the wave so as not to get stuck at the top.
– introduce the hull to the lip and the foam, not the rail.
– remain firm and directional but flexible, if the foam is high because it is not a smooth surface and the Board will have to be guided over this field of bumps.
– attack even faster and it’s safe to do so ?
