HOW TO : PADDLE SIZE !!!

The size of your paddle will be different depending on the discipline.

 

Adjusting the length of your Paddle according to your program will allow you to obtain better performance and avoid hurting yourself.

When Surfing

To surf, the paddle has to be your size. A short paddle will allow you to row with more frequency, which is essential for your take-off. You will also have more manoeuvrability because it allows you to put more angle to the Board in the curves. For those who want to surf with radicality, you can allow yourself to adjust your paddle 5 cm below your size.

When Cruising

To go for a cruise, your paddle must be your height + 10cm. When you go cruising, having a little length allows you to go further in front of you and to get propulsion. No need to set it bigger unless you are on a more sporty ride.

When Racing

To row in Race or intensive training, your paddle must be your size = 10 or even 20cm. In Racing, it is important to paddle as far ahead as possible to maximize speed with each stroke. The wrestling of your paddle will be all the more solid and deep to amplify the propulsion.
