GEAR : FOCUS ON THE GRAPHENE USED IN THE BILLABONG WETSUITS !!!

Billabong integrates a real technological innovation at the heart of its wetsuits: graphene

It was in 2004 that two scientists, André Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, succeeded in isolating graphene sheets. They were awarded the Nobel Prize in 2010 for their work on this material, which is obtained from graphite.

Graphene is an excellent heat conductor, one of the best known to date. In addition, it is a very light and very strong material. It is for all these qualities that Billabong had the idea to integrate it in its wetsuits.

The graphene lining is sewn into the inner laminated jersey, as close to the skin as possible, in order to increase the heat absorbed from the body. Billabong publishes on its website that the results of an independent study show that graphene heats up faster and maintains body heat much longer than other traditional thermal linings, even when standing still.

That’s why at GONG we have selected for you the Billabong wetsuits which, thanks to their graphene linings, will not only allow you to get hotter faster, but also longer 😉

A good thing for those susceptible to the cold out there.

Find these wetsuits on the online shop.
