GEAR: 6M OR 7M IN WING ?

Setting up the ideal quiver when you’re new to wingfoiling raises many questions.

Do not hesitate to ask our forum as Prolland did, who wondered what would be the best choice between 6 and 7m to complete his 5m Plus with in order to sail more often. Our community is very active and you may get the answer from L’Ours himself like here:

“If your sailing is based on pure glide, in a spot where the gusts are rather significant, you can go for a 6m2 because you will wait for the gust to take off and you will still be planing in the lighter moments. On the other hand, if you are the type that needs to be well powered or if your spot offers only very challenging winds, you should go for the 7m2.

In short, you’ll take off in almost the same wind with these two sizes. The 7 makes it possible to fly when the wind gives you a hard time and you’ll head upwind more easily. The 6 is more manoeuvrable and playful.”
