Nicolas, GONG Ambassador, practices SurFoil and Wing Foil. He shares with us today his feelings on the new Veloce Foil, whether it is in dockstart in SurfFoil or in Wing Foil:
“Go as promised a little feedback of the test I had with my Veloce XXL wing and a small complement to my Saturday session in pump.
Saturday: complementary test of the Veloce XXL in pure pump, dockstarts and beachstarts, I finally find my marks, I also played with the stabs my favorite configuration is with the Surf 40, not yet tested the kite 45 but tried to chop-chop it to make a stab kite 40! In this configuration I managed to scratch 2kmh in top speed it starts to crush it hard ! With a max run of 400m, but the goal was not necessarily to test my cardio at the limits.
Sunday : Wing session, 25nds, Pulse 4m, prepeg 100cm, Veloce XXL, stab Veloce 43, Lemon 5’0. Well, it’s a different paradigm … the time to get used to it in the first 10 minutes to find the right stance and then what fun, what changes ? SPEED … and the good thing is that in tacks and jibes the speed compensates for the loss of stability due to the nervousness of the thing. The switch to tack that used to pass when it wanted to before always comes back and the tack to switch that I mastered well now passes with much more speed and offers some crazy sensations! After 2 hours the wind dropped to 15 knots, my 6m Superpower being under repair, I started again in 4m Pulse and XXL Curve with the impression to have released the emergency brake! With all this, I’m thinking that an XL veloce will soon complete the little family… ”
