When there are no conditions at all, you can always do dock starts! But as Albin did not have a dock nearby, he made one with a ladder that he placed close to the beach. He took advantage of this ladder dock start session to see how good the Curve XL-T is at pumping.
“Little personal feedback on my GONG Galaxy Curve XLT in ladder dock start!
I’m 95kg, using the fast 45 stab, 65cm Alu V2 mast, and a short wooden board.
I started with the Rise XXL, it was slow, but really easy to start once I figured it out. Had a lot of fun with this FW!
I moved on to the X-Over XXL, and it was already faster, and also a little bit harder to start. You really need to get some speed.
“But boy the speed, the glide, and boy the turns!!!”
Now the Curve XLT! It is not that harder to start IMHO, but boy the speed, the glide, and boy the turns!!!
I tried the Curve M kitefoiling, and I preferred to move to a Fluid. I did not feel that much of its curvyness.
Now I get it, it definitely deserves its name! The difference in turns coming from the X-over is amazing! I feel that it keeps you up much much better when turning. Maybe this feeling comes also from the additional speed, but I just love it!
I think the wingspan of the Fluid XXLT might become an issue for my ladder starts, but dear do I want to try it now.
Might start changing the Fast 45 to a Fast 40 first.
Or maybe trying the H versions straight away
