THE SLAB : LE CONCEPT

Having lunch at The Slab or simply coming in for a drink, is an immersion in a universe dedicated to boardsports with a relaxed atmosphere, faithful to the GONG spirit. The perfect meet up place after or before a sesh, with friends, family, around fresh and high quality dishes in a nature friendly environment.

 

The place to be

The Slab is part of the GONG Space Center, an area dedicated to boardsports located in the activity park of Brais, in the middle of nature.
A site open to all visitors: experts as beginners who are eager to discover the boardsports world.

Seated at a beautiful wooden table, on a swing at the counter or in an intimate alcove, The Slab offers more than a classical restaurant atmosphere: it is located at the heart of a surf shop that spans over 1000 m2 just next to our shaping rooms, our R&D and all our divisions.
In the middle of a thousand boards, exotic plants mixed with raw woods create a warm and unique vibe.
Our teams also invite you on our home-made terrace between palm trees and reeds.

Freshness and seasonality of our products

On the menu, The Slab’s team offers finely chosen, varied, healthy and high quality dishes that are evolving with the seasons. “We have decided to put our focus on the local market, on the freshness and seasonality of our products. We don’t have a freezer, everything is fresh, explains Fred, The Slab’s cook chief.” He’s a former owner and cook of two restaurants on the Guérande’s peninsula. He perfectly knows local producers and… has been a faithful fan of GONG’s products for a while.
His second, Justin, who comes from England, specialized himself on the seasoning of dishes. He grew up in Brighton, a cosmopolitan town, and uses his experience in world cuisine to enhance his chief’s creations.

Several local producers work with us : La French, Emma, Marylou… from drinks to desserts to bakery, eco-responsibility is our priority. It is more enjoyable for us to contribute to the growth of the region and it is more enjoyable for you to have good products on your plate !

A diversity of fresh dishes is served on the menu at lunch : from a sea bream ceviche to poke bowls to must-haves like a cheeseburger (with home-made french fries obviously ?). The recipes are influenced by a life journey made of surf trips to the other side of the world, meet-ups with food enthusiasts and childhood memories. Outside the lunch service hours, The Slab’s team will welcome you all day long to sip drinks and cocktails or to enjoy a galette or a crepe.

Credit cards and cash are the only means of payment accepted by The Slab.
